Thanks for the super helpful video, Bryn. A word to the wise, be very careful NOT to bump the Xenon bulb when manoeuvring the locking collar into place. My bulb fell down into the cavity in front of the wheel well and turned a 10 minute job into an hour long ordeal.

Nicely thought out video, Bryn, with a bit of much appreciated comedy. :-) The Xenon bulbs degrade slowly over time but never seem to actually fail. I reckon most owners new to a Mk1 TT have no idea that their headlight bulbs are 20 years old, or why their lights are so crap at night. My advice is buy quality replacements, not ebay specials. You get what you pay for and can never have enough light at night. You'll probably never have to replace them again. Top job as usual, mate. :-)

So halogen headlight will not work on a TT with xenons? Doh I may have just bought the wrong headlight...lol. Any suggestions for bulb upgrades?

Bought one of these, and your videos have been AMAZINGLY helpful! Loved this one. My side body lights would not detach from their plug. I twisted and pulled, nothing. Watched this, took some pliers and yanked them off. Put my LED ones in and the Audi is looking good!

Hey, I have (unfortunately) the halogen version. What do you think - would it be possible to replace reflector bowl with some bi-xenon / bi-led reflector so it would solve HID/LED bulb socket issue? Thanks, cheers.

Hi, You video doesn't show location and how change parking front light bulb. Is located somewhere inside this assembly and power by same power plug, wire # 2 in the socket. Going someplace inside the assembly. This is orange button strip in this assembly. I did got all bulbs like you was showing but can't locate the parking bulb. Fuses # 22, 23. My right is ok and glowing parking light. Thank you for info if you can

Great vid Bryn, nice and clear. Anyone out there know about xenon lights? My dipped lights (xenons) go out after approx 60 secs. They reset but go out each time but not at same time. I'm changing bulbs but wondered if I need to check ballast (not exactly sure what this is or how to do it). Any advice for trouble shooting is much appreciated.

Do you have to remove the whole bumper to have access, to put clips back in place on main beam lamps? My clips have come away. Haynes say remove whole front bumper. Seems a pain in the ass.

After sucessfully changing the blown dipped beam with improved bulbs I noticed both the front side lights we out. The bulb warning was not triggered like the dipped beam. It seems this is normal(?) Suggest everyone checks theirs. (H6W) Still under 40k on my 2006 1.8 2wd.

In the 7 years I have had car the parking light bulbs front have gone 5 times. One time one went while having mot so failed. Thay couldn't figure out how to get to bulbs so I replaced it right in front of them no problem 😁

Your hazard switch houses the relay, so thats the likely fault

One pull is front fogs, 2 pulls is rear fogs, only when sidelights or dipped beam are on
