I run through a typical Nuaire Eco Heat HC installation from start to finish. Including a glance through the instruction manual.
If you are struggling with condensation and mould these really can be an effective way to help. I didnt mention it in this video but it also has benefits for Asthma sufferers.
I have created a Nuaire PIV playlist that has the other videos mentioned in this video. • Positive Input Ventila...
These are a great addition for electricians to offer customers, we install loads all year round.

Great content. Fitted a few of these now for family after watching your pervious vudeo. Too many people are unaware the damage mould can do to your house and health.

I've just fitted my third PIV (Eco heat HCS) to try and prevent mould. These are great PIV units and worked really well on other 2 houses.

It's great how you go through the instructions. A lesson to us all. Even if the product is the same, the instsllation method can change. Best to find this out at the beginning rather than at the end.

Great advice and clear explanation, thanks, Mark. You mentioned that the unit can be powered from a lighting circuit - I have an unused ring main circuit socket in the bedroom below (used to power a wall mounted tv) and can easily relocate it into the loft, would that be better and connect the unit via a 20amp DP fused spur? Thanks
@electrician247
@electrician247 9 ай бұрын
Hi, I would used a fused connection unit rather than a DP 20A isolator. With a 3A fuse max in it. These devices consume little power. Thanks
@user-og5ys3kv7s
@user-og5ys3kv7s 9 ай бұрын
Thanks for that. One more question - just being cautious - the supplied spur has a 1amp fuse, you suggest a 3amp max. Would it be ok to go for the 1amp coming off a ring main?

@user-og5ys3kv7s that would be fine. But I would advise contacting a local electrician to carryout the work

If you have a loft space then one of these. If not then a flatmaster unit ducted through the wall. Ideally in a communal area of the property.

Great video. I want a tradesmen to fit ours. Generally do people opt for electricians to fit these ? How long should it take generally take to fit it? Just working out how much it might cost to get someone to fit? Also can I ask why you wouldn’t recommend to buy one without the heat function? As I was planning to buy the Drimaster DRI-ECO-HC Condensation Ventilation Loft Unit (Hall Control) version for around £340. I didn’t want to spend over £400 on one really. Thanks Matt Thanks matt

Because they are very cold without a heater over winter. To the point lots of people switch them off defeating the object. Supplied and installed you would expect to pay around £800-£1000 BPEC ventilation engineer who are usually electricians would be the installer you need. Depends on the loft work, wiring and such for how long it might take.

@@electrician247 wow really, didn't know they get that cold. Ill see what prices are like. The hot ones are from like £600. Might have to stick to the ones without a heater. As I've seen the hall control one for around £320. Brill. Ill check who can fit them around Derbyshire

Hi Ian, We have just had an electrician install our DricEco Heat. They have set it up on the default option. (1). When the temp in the loft reaches above 23degrees it will switch it's self off on standbu automatically. I wasn't sure if to switch it to another option? Thanks for the advice.

Do you need an outlet duct through your roof? Where does the air go that is drawn up out of the house?
@electrician247
@electrician247 Жыл бұрын
It's not drawn up it injects air into the house from the loft. Which is why you need good loft ventilation for these to work well. You can get through the wall vairents for situations lofts have poor access/ventilation.
