I switched from LibreOffice to OnlyOffice earlier this year. Everything I've read says the file formats are essentially identical to Microsoft Office file formats. This is particularly important to me for spreadsheets. There are still differences in how OnlyOffice and Microsoft Office operate, but I have not yet run into a file compatibility issue. (I did run into issues using LibreOffice.) Thanks for the video. I had OnlyOffice installed as a flatpak (I don't like snap packages). I deleted that and followed along with your video to add the repository and reinstall. The Microsoft fonts were not available to all applications using the flatpak. Now I have everything, which from a compatibility perspective, is very nice. Keep up the great work!

LibreOffice is very much like Microsoft Office except that LibreOffice is free to install and use. There are different ways to install LibreOffice. You can install it from the package manager or download the more updated version from the website. They also have an Appimage which might be better as it is lighter. You can install Microsoft Fonts from Synaptic Package Manager. So I don't know why the Flatpak version cannot detect them. Maybe you can link to them in the settings. OnlyOffice also comes as an Appimage as well as a Deb File install. But I think that adding the repositories is better as I won't have to keep going back to the website for updates. It will update automatically. Microsoft Fonts was also installed during the installation as OnlyOffice uses those fonts. You can change the fonts to Ubuntu if you want in the settings.

Thanks for sharing this info Andrea. The clarity of video and the sound at the beginning of the video was really good, did you upgrade your camera and microphone?

No it's the same one. I have had a lot of Updates from Debian recently as I have Debian Trixie. Maybe that's it as some of the updates were sound drivers.

You should review the new cosmic desktop environment when you get the chance. It's in alpha still but development is fast.

Yes you have to pay for Microsoft Office. It's not free but LibreOffice is. I did use to like the old Microsoft Office 97 and 2000 which had the animated office assistants Clippy, Genius and Rover the dog. Anyone who has used Windows XP will remember those. And the search companions in Windows XP Explorer. It's a pity they don't have them on Linux. It was be fun if they did.
