This is one of the very few porch light install videos on KZbin that is actually correct 💯..... I see sooo many people just wire the ground wires together without using the grounding screw....or people using the grounding screw but twisting the ground wire around the LEFT of the screw instead of twisting it in the Right direction....always wrap the copper bare ground in the same direction the screw tightens...but nobody does lol.....at least you did tho.. that way when you tighten the ground screw it actually pulls the wire tighter... instead of looser...

Good job ! when caulking , I would leave , on the bottom of the fixture, about a 1" space , uncaulked so if water does get behind the fixture it will have a place to weep out .

thank you , i was not sure about that ground wire and the new siding brought me out another inch from the box and you wrapping around the ground screw and hooking it to the new ground line helped a lot as i knew i wanted that new plate grounded too but the green screw was too short to hold both but it worked perfect to wrap the one around the screw and then connect it to the fixture ground too. did i mention thank you .

I need to change mine and put up new ones, they’ve faded bc they get full sun. Those tiny screws are so tricky to put on, always dropping them. You did great job, thanks for sharing.

Better to leave a small gap around bottom, that way if for any reason moisture gets inside it has a path out and doesn't collect in box. Only needs to be half an inch or so

My garage light has a blue plastic box sunk in the mortar, so my rotating bracket “wings” are parallel to each other and the rear box bracket blocked my ability to back off the screws to mount the light flush on the bricks…had to go find shorter screws than what came with the light kit…so annoying.
