I find it interesting that some people add turbos to single turbo diesels, and some replace 2 turbos with one on a Cat. Also, I'm really impressed that such a huge modification can still retain the smog devices.

Back in the day, Cummins did make a twin turbo NTC with step timing control and it was rated at 475 hp or so. The VGT turbo on an ISX can support a lot of power though, and adding more air to a diesel is a win always.

I would be interested in the atmospheric turbos specs. To me it looks like a S400 with a 1.32 ar 96mm Ty turbine and a 75-80mm billit compressor wheel and a custom compressor housing with a 90° tig welded on....... Or something very similar in size!

Never done one on a Lonestar. It would likely be very tight, we have done a couple sets on 579 & 567 aero peterbilts. The kit is designed for a 389 and W900L.

Good questions! The 15-20% increase is based on the engine's peak HP output. We do slow down the primary VGT turbo about 20% to take some work load off of it, and make the compound setup work properly. This kit is designed for the long hooded 389 Peterbilt and W900 Kenworth. We are able to do custom applications in our shop, but there are no plans for adapters for other model trucks. Thanks for watching!

I have a ddec iv 12.7 that I am building a compound setup for. The T600 can be tight under the hood so im not sure if it will fit or not. I have run the numbers and the best setup (for normal use not racing) is the factory waste gated 12.7 turbo and a SXE400 in 88mm (sxe is the billit compressor wheel version) configuration running the 1.32 a/r turbine housing. Should good for about 600-750 on a little tune. The piping work for a series 60 is dead simple so any decent shop can make it up.

How's it affect the Jake brakes on an isx 2350? What happens if you don't do the ecm tuning? Does it add boost? And will egt's stay lower when running 38-40 PSI boost currently for 5-10 minutes on a daily pull?

The jakes improve due to the compound set up. You would need some tuning to run this efficiently, it does add some boost and the EGT's stay much cooler on a hard pull. With our Intake manifold a long hard pull the Pyro will hit 800 - 850 max.

Great question! The average gains accomplished are .5 to 1 mile per gallon. With 1 mile per gallon gain, the average savings is nearly $1500 per month. This would pay for itself quite quickly and start putting $ in your pocket!

Thanks for watching and the comment! This set up is designed to work with all factory emissions, and has been working extremely well. We put the first setup on a customer's truck over 18 months ago. He has logged nearly 200K miles with no problems, emissions or otherwise. That was on the new X15 with the improved after treatment system. We have many other customers running this system, with them being mixed on 2011 - 2017 CM2350 series ISX and 2018- Current X15's. The proper maintenance and use on these new emissions trucks goes a long way. Thanks again for watching.

@@pdidiesel he clearly doesn't understand that the lower egt also helps lower the NoX levels as combustion temp is the cause of generation of NoX. So Robert, it will not effect the catalyst or def system if you have it turned. As far as dpf if you get more air in and have a proper fuel rate it will not smoke, and smoke being carbon soot is what kills the dpf. Dpf issues pretty much only come from bad tunes, mechanical issues or STUPID drivers idling constantly.

If you change your oil and don't go over , don't do a lot of idling and don't use thar poor quality diesel you won't have any issues with the DEF systems.

The actual turbos on the Acert CAT were truly not very problematic. There were several other issues that lead to that engine series getting a bad reputation. When it comes to air flow, two turbos are superior to one, no question. If you do not need extra air flow, and have other options to get the optimum air and fuel ratio, then a Big Boss single turbo is also very effective. Thanks for watching!

We do not have CARB E.O. for this set up. However, it will not affect the emissions output of the engine, so to that regard it can be ran as you see fit. It is available now for the X15. Thanks!
