Stern Insider Connect lets you keep high scores and show’s locations that have Stern machines. Also, this allows the machine to do auto code updates.

Why not just leave the playfield connected ? The cord is long enough to put it on something next to the machine

That’s a great question! I have left the playfield connected before on other pins and used saw horses to set it on. But with this playfield I just didn’t see any safe spots that didn’t have the potential for slipping and something getting broke. It was just easier and safer to get this one totally out of the way.
