Good video man.. You don't need a crack union with a flex gas line since you can remove the fitting where it meets the black steel

I live in California but can remember these heaters at a tire shop when still in Michigan. Like you said, when near them it feels like you're standing in the sun. Very interesting.

I think I would prefer standing in the California sunshine. 😂

@@ReubenSahlstrom I hear you! I can still remember how fickle springtime can be in the Midwest, especially back in Michigan. It's supposed to be in the mid 90s Thursday and Friday. A bit early but it happens.

@@ReubenSahlstrom warning - the sunshine may come with a lot of other undesirable things that are part of the california package, like one party rule.

Great video man. I just started installing these heaters with the older style hangers at work today. Thanks for sharing!

Hoping you can help me out here . I have two existing radiant tube heaters, and both crapped out. Of course, winter is around the corner and i live in cental Ontario Canada where ist gets very cold. My question is , my existing tubes are 3.5 inch and the new ones come in 4 inch only . Can I just put a 4 inch to 3.5-inch coupler so I don't have to change 60 feet of tube and exhaust pipe? This would save me a shit load of work and cost to buying new tubes and exhaust witch are all like new , thanx if you can help out .

Since the tube is where the gas combusts, the amount of resistance plays an important role. Thus I would not recommend installing a different size burner unless the burner manual makes allowance for it. You don't want to end up with carbon monoxide. Your current heaters may just need a good tune up?

@@ReubenSahlstrom Tnx for your 4 reply. I was told by the local gas and heating shop they can't get parts for my heaters anymore. I'm calling bullshit because he wants to sell 2 new units, lol. The new units i ordered are 100,000 BTU and come with 20 feet of tubing, 4 inches. my old one is 30 feet of tubing and 11 feet of exhaust pipe which is mint and still hanging. So basically, I just want to do is just put 4 in to 3.5 in reducer to connect how its sitting now. It would only be a c1/4 in in circumference from what i have now so was thinking it may work. The boss was supposed to get a hold of the company we bought them from to see if that was ok but haven't heard back yet and i want to be prepared when it comes in has it's getting colder and the boys are bitching it's too cold to work already, lol.
