That electric conduit pipe idea is really smart! Never thought of that before but I’ll be using it for sure!!!

Please tell me why after replacing the rear hub bearings, I only drive 50 miles?
@tcr739035 жыл бұрын
great video. I am having a rear wheel sensor code on my jeep. I pulled the sensor out and put a new one in...This did not fix my jeep, I noticed a lot of metal shavings on my sensor. I am thinking I have to change the bearing out. You said 250...Would I need to spend all that Or can I just buy one bearing hub or part. Either way great video. I may just take it to a shop realizing this is a lot of work.

You can buy bearings and seals for like $25-$80

Is there a reason why you wouldn’t heat the bearing so it would go on?
@fastidiouspa5 жыл бұрын
Jason Gregory to be honest I didn’t know you could heat it but I would think that by heating it, it could possibly damage the seals in them..

Jeep_King I am not an auto mechanic by trade but I know you normally heat a bearing and cool the shaft if possible. That changes the measurements just enough so the bearing will go on and be tight when it returns to normal temp. They actually make bearing heaters but most novices just use a small propane torch. www.industrial-toolcrib.com/Bessey-GCS38534-38-In-to-5-34-In-Cone-Style-Bearing-Heater_p_2016.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw9L_tBRBXEiwAOWVVCShGx41H6gtsAYQiZFDV7w-mrSkA04TrkK2K1CAXdax4w7_QAaNUXhoCPg8QAvD_BwE

Jason Gregory thanks for the pointer, I’m not a mechanic by trade either but love to work on my own stuff.

Bearings and retainers should always be installed at ambient temperatures. Heating them up will damage them and cause premature failure and you'll just be doing this again in no time. I suggest doing some research and find a better video to learn from, if that's you're thing. I didn't see anything useful in this video. This guy doesn't have a clue what he is doing, only guessing as he goes along. He has no business making an instructional video, especially one without instruction.

@@idlehandsatplay8239 I’m sorry someone hurt you mike. Also, you can heat bearings. I hope no one read your comment and took it as informational seeing as there was no useful information in it. 😘 www.timken.com/pdf/10212_TempGuide%20for%20RB%20Install.pdf

F.y.i. it wasn't stuck, the axle bearing has to be pressed on, along with the piece you cut. The axle is fine as long as the splines aren't twisted.

Thank you for the tip.. I’m not a mechanic or anything I just like to show everyone what has worked for me.. I appreciate learning new tips and new things..

I can’t get the retainer bolts in. Retainer is on. My gasket, bearing, spacer. But I can’t get my original axle to go completely in. I’m about 3/4” shy of getting a bolt onto the retainer. Any suggestions

Your gear teeth may not be seated correctly in side the differential -or- maybe you didn't press bearing on all the way??? Just a couple guesses

Did you find a solution I’m having the same problem ?
@carpediem44134 жыл бұрын
If you’re on a Rubicon, left/right axles are different lengths (non Rubicon are same length). Also, make sure the old bearing chase is not still stuck in the hub/end.
