Great video! Very Helpful tips. How do I know if my old booster pump was low voltage or high voltage? Actually my motor in the back wiring looks exactly like your old one. I bought a polaris PB4-60 and this pump's wiring looks exactly like your new one

The pump I received from Advantage appeared to be used. The wire insulation was dirty and moldy. The spades and terminals were corroded. The terminal block was so discolored, weak and degraded that it broke upon tightening one of the nuts. I did not use excessive torque. The volute leaked. I am awaiting their reply to my request for a refund or replacement. UPDATE 5-19-23: Well they never got back to me but I called today to ask about getting a new terminal block and they are sending one gratis. The pump still works fine but I'm changing out the bearings because they are starting to get noisy. Overall I'll say I'm satisfied. The leaky volute I fixed by tightening the bolts a smidge, maybe they loosened in transit. I'm happier.

i just had a pool installed, and the company is so hard to get a hold of for anything.. I have been cleaning and getting it opened up myself, but my Booster pump sounds like it has sand or gravel in it when I start turn it on! I'm not even sure its pumping anything to the pool, as I'm afraid to walk away that far to even check the outlet in the pool. are they always this loud? or do you think something is wrong with my new booster pump?
@SPL2 жыл бұрын
It sounds like it might not be priming correctly. I would turn it off until they can look at it.

Could you do a review and installation of the Pentair Boost-Rite or Polaris PB4SQ multistage booster pump?

I will put it on my list.

I have a pressure cleaner (Polaris 360). Is it advantageous to add a separate poster pump? Currently mine is run off of the main pump and I use a diverter valve to balance the Polaris and return jets. Thanks for your thoughts and videos!
@SPL7 жыл бұрын
The booster pump would produce too much return pressure for the Polaris 360. It needs to be connected only to your main pump line. The Booster pump Polaris cleaners would be the 280, 380 and 3900 Sport. Hope that helps.

Great post as usual. Have you gotten around to filming an install with pvc pipe as you mentioned you would do at a later date? Mine is pvc and I'm a bit intimidated. Thanks!

Not yet. It is on my list. You can check out a couple of my install videos - the basics are the same. SUPERFLO® VS Variable Speed Pump: Plumbing in the Pump: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpOUgIeJZdOMg8k

i hv 2 valve. one is pool return, inlet, spa return. other one is pool suction, spa suction, and inlet. which valve should i open and start the booster pump?

I'm confused. I have been running my polaris off of a booster pump. I have a garden hose attached to the booster pump which then feeds into the polaris hose which is in the pool. I have an older pool. Is there a way to just run the polaris 360 from my return? Do I need the booster pump? Should the booster pump feed into the system at some designated line? So confused!!!

Are all booster pumps the same height? I assume not but figured I'd ask. I currently have a Hayward 6060 that I'd like to replace with another brand and I am wondering if I would need to modify the location of the PVC connections.
@SPL6 жыл бұрын
I think there are slight differences. To make things easy you can just order the same hayward booster pump again. Unless you just want to change brands entirely.

Do you have a video showing the plumbing connections to the pool? I know where to connect the return line but not sure where to connect the supply line.
@SPL5 жыл бұрын
You mean you can't locate the wall connection in the pool/
@stevenadinolfisr98205 жыл бұрын
No on the pump side. I know where to put the hose that goes to the pool but I forgot where to put the other hose at. I am talking about the hose that goes into the front center of the pump.
@SPL5 жыл бұрын
That should go into a dedicated return line.

Was there an isolation valve leading to the booster? My set up doesn't have one?
@SPL3 жыл бұрын
There should be a dedicated line to the cleaner booster pump.
@dhimiterllambiri69353 жыл бұрын
@@SPL by dedicate line there are two main hoses going in. But no shut off valve? Would this mean if I need to remove the booster pump that I would have to drain my pool?

Why wasn’t the tail brush swinging while it was running????
@SPL5 жыл бұрын
You can set it to very low or even off on this cleaner. A nice feature.

Swimming Pool Tips, Reviews & How To - SPL do you have a video on that? I have the same sweep and now my tail scrubber isn’t moving around like it used to. Maybe it need adjustments but I don’t know how to do that.
