It’s all sealed with pvc Trim and caulk. Should have no problem moving forward.

You have great videos! I need to replace some our 50 year old windows. The sills are rotting out and I'd like to replace the windows without sills. Do I need to buy windows that fit the frame opening the? Would that mean 1/2" narrower and 3/8" shorter than the frame opening? I understand the width would be about the same but would the height be a lot different without the sill, than my window's rough opening actually measures now? I have vinyl siding and would like not to replace any of that to fit a smaller window. Thanks in advance!

If you remove the sill it will need to be replaced or it will change your profile at the vinyl siding. I would remove the rotted sill and replace it with new lumber. (Maybe Azec or PVC so it’s water proof) That way all you need to do is remove the sashes and the stops and put your window in. Often times people aluminum coil the outside of the windows for their finish. PVC trim and a good caulk job works well too.

You did not show how to keep that window from leaking. There is no nail fin on outside no window tape It’s videos like these that make our jobs as professionals harder. Bad advice
