Installed the Retrax pro Mx on my new 2019 GMC Sierra and the grab handle works perfectly! Took awhile to get the answer but if you have the new body style and multi pro tailgate this cover rocks! Enjoy! Happy Holidays!

I have the grab handle on my 2019 Sierra and installed the Pro XR. Using a dremel type tool, or the appropriate file, I was able to produce a perfect fit by filing out a space approximately 1 1/2 long X 1/4 to 3/8" deep to accommodate the grab handle bracket. It was very easy and looked professional.

You didn't mention anything about the factory grab handle on drivers side near the tailgate. Will this cause a problem?

Well this looks easy but when you have to adjust it you have to undo all of your mounting work. I will be returning mine on Monday. The cover doesn’t close evenly so it is unable to be locked. Also they did not account for the handle on the GMC Sierra. I have the 2020 and after adjusting the rails it does not fit over the handle bracket. I guess you would have to notch it out but luckily I did not do it so I can still get a refund. Guess I will try the Bakflip cover instead.

Have it on my 2020 Sierra HD looks great but wish I went with a different cover. I’ve had it back to the installer 3 times now for adjustments. It has created damage on the rail from shifting side to side when in the locked position, scratched the tailgate molding from hitting the rail when closing, nuts and plastic hardware have come loose falling off into the bed of the truck and it leaks. I’ve contacted retrax as it’s only been a few months and the response was either I keep it and it is what it is or I return it. Bottom line not happy with it

The instructions literally tell you how to use the spacer to keep the tailgate from hitting the rails. Follow them.

2 people told me a Retrax it would work and than they said no, please design it to use the grab handle.... not paying $1800 for no functional handle
