We would make sure the dongles are plugged in properly. Check those and if there is still an issue give our support lines a call and those guys can try to walk you through any issues. Not sure about the sucking sound though. Maybe record it on video and send it to info@rottweilerperformance.com. We have never heard that one!

@RottweilerPerformance Жыл бұрын
@@cristiantamasila8667 There is no complete 'fix' for that, but there are large Band-Aids. Some of which are this intake, and especially better mapping with a fueling controller like a Power Commander. Haven't managed to find the video of the oiling process for the rotty filter you mentioned is available. I oil it just like any other foam type filter but there will be customers who have never had to do it before buying your product.
@Doogerauoy8 жыл бұрын
What's the purpose of oiling the foam filter? If it's all oily and wet, doesn't it attract more dirt and grim?
@RottweilerPerformance7 жыл бұрын
All foam filters should be oiled. That is what the dirt particulates stick to. Paper uses surface area and finer holes, but doesn't flow well. Dirt bikes have been using oiled foam for decades.

Hi. I have a 2006 950sm and it was running great after this install, but then developed a condition where if I accelerate aggressively or hard, it starts to back fire like crazy, feeling like my chain snaps, or that I'm about to explode. Any clues what could have happened? A vacuum leak? My carbs dislodged?
@RottweilerPerformance3 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you just have an air leak somewhere. It could be at the exhaust with a crack or a gasket blow pulling oxygen in or an actual lean condition in your cylinders. I would just check the boots thoroughly to make sure the carbs are seated properly and check that if the emissions have been removed (almost everyone does) that there are no air leaks where the hoses used to go but that bike should not have much in the way of emissions because of the date it was manufactured. You should also re-jet the carbs with a the jet kit linked below. This is crucial on the carbed bikes. www.rottweilerperformance.com/jetting-kits-for-ktm-lc8-950s/
@majorawol3 жыл бұрын
@@RottweilerPerformance -- Thanks for that. I did re-jet with that kit so I should have everything in order as far as parts go... and it was running like a dream for about a month... But I'll take a closer look to what you suggested. I'm starting to suspect perhaps my fuel pump is starting to get weird, but that's just from reading the internet.
@RottweilerPerformance3 жыл бұрын
@@majorawol That may very well be! Popping is almost always a lean condition, whether it's only in the header or from the motor itself you will need to figure out. Glad we could help shed at least a little light on this for you.

@RottweilerPerformance3 жыл бұрын
You won't damage the motor, but those engines were not fueled very well and all and a Power Commander V will work wonders for it, stock or not. We would highly recommend one, and we can set them up for free, but you certainly won't blow your motor without one. They will just compensate at 14.7 AFR in closed loop.

"And what is the idea of doing that, what benefit does it bring?" Much more horsepower. Easier maintenance with a servicable filter. The ability to have your filter in your hands and access the throttle bodies with only a screwdriver or coin in seconds. More room for tools. Better filtration.

Hi, I would like to eliminate SAS on my KTM 990 SMR. Which kit do you suggest? Can I do this job without removing air box or remove and re- installing is necessary? Thank you in advance.
@RottweilerPerformance6 жыл бұрын
You can either choose the SAS stage 2 or 3. They both do the same thing, but stage 3 will allow you to check the sync on your throttle bodies easily and at any time if you are into that. You will have to remove your airbox, but if you are installing one of our intakes (you would be crazy not to) then it's all right there and easily done.
@planpitz41906 жыл бұрын
On the 950 i suppose you will have to change carb jets to suit higher flow in the intake, but in any case after conversion the bike will not be street legal anymore!Or does it?
@RottweilerPerformance6 жыл бұрын
That part we leave up to you. On the jetting, you should change it. Our Factory Pro Ti needle kits are a great way to have what you need on hand. www.rottweilerperformance.com/jetting-kits-for-ktm-lc8-950s/ Typical starting points (with that kit) are 168 front - 170 rear main - needle in the 3rd from top - pilot at 45 - float at around 4mm. That can go up or down depending on your altitude but will get you in the ballpark quickly. The Flex Jets are also key to fine tuning on the fly.www.rottweilerperformance.com/flex-jets/

I have some more question. - Can you recommend this kit for me. I ride about 35k - 40k miles a year. - Will this kit affeced the where and there of the bike? - Does it need more maintenance than the stock setup. - How long last the filter?

- Can you recommend this kit for me. I ride about 35k - 40k miles a year. Of course. There are no issues with that. Obviously the more miles on a bike the quicker things wear out, but your use is just fine. - Will this kit affeced the where and there of the bike? No, those engines are strong. If anything the filter will filter out more dust prolonging the wear and tear of the engine. - Does it need more maintenance than the stock setup. It is a foam filter, so it is washable and reusable. If you get the Snap Out bracket, maintenance is super easy. Use the pre filters as they will catch most of the dust and are easy to swap and clean. - How long last the filter? As long as you take good care of it, it should last years. We have some still in use after 5 years. We can supply filters alone to our previous customers if there is any issue.

It’s your secondary throttle plates. The ones that the computer controls. In some occasions they can be at juuuust the right angle and can whistle slightly. When you open the throttle it goes away. It’s just a byproduct of that bike and harmless.
