@steve16412 yea i work at kysor warren we make racks that run refrigerent to cases that cool your food etc... some of those racks have pipes as large as 4 1/8 in pipe that run one way and 180 and have several pipes running close to or by pipes needed insulation and those pipes might even need to be insulated. im very good at insulating but its neither rewarding or enjoyable. i just transferred to brazing. now being the person to pipe and braze those racks together is much more fun.

@steve16412 yeah i actually enjoy doing this stuff. foam insulation and armaflex. its just the fiberglass stuff i dont like especially owens corning makes me so itchy. i used to work in a fiberglass shop and i was in charge of the chop gun. it is a paint spraying type gun that sprays the resin while it also shoots out chopped fibers of fiberglass. yuck that was a nasty job and everyday i would come home and i could not get the itching to stop even after the cold showers.

What brand do you recommend since the hardware store varieties are inferior? Do you recommend silver tape at any point? What is the cost differential and where do you get this better quality insulation? What are the actual insulating qualities of this type vs. the more readily availabe stuff? Thanx for a good video.

What kind of glue is that? Is it just rubber cement or make especially made for the insulation? Thanks.

@steve16412 im trained adequately and im very fast and good at it, its just at my plant its looked down upon like its a womans job and is the lowest pay in the plant. i just promoted to brazing, i enjoy it much more and the pay is top for production on the floor
