If you're drilling into steel within the frame then screws are fine, if it's a hollow upvc frame it's best to use jack nuts as they won't pull out as easy as screws.

Thanks, the previous owner installed this on our internal door. However, I decided, I want another for our inside door. I just ordered one, will be arriving tomorrow. This looks very easy to install, thankfully I am only drilling into plastic and not steer. This will add another extra security measure for our front door. Plus, they are pretty cheap, not expensive at all.

The product is good and tough the problem is the hollow pvc frame it's mounted to. One sharp tug and it'll strip the screws back through the thin pvc. Would be ideal if you could get a metal back plate to the inside of frame but the whole thing is sealed. 😢

Nice video, very well explained with clear images and speech. Just one thing though, that kind of window is not a sash, it is a casement. Sash windows are where the 2 opening sections slide up and down eg on original victorian wooden windows. The actual sash is the cord or rope that runs from the window panel, over the pulley, and down to the counterweight hidden inside the fixed frame.

If your french doors do not have shoot bolts top and bottom you will know how easy it is to push them open a little even with the handle pushed up to engage the mushrooms and hooks. So if the bad boy outside puts his crowbar in the top of the doors where they meet he will soon be inside. If your door mechanism does have 'shoot bolts' top and bottom they will secure the doors to the frame, not just each other. So if you don't have shoot bolts then sash jammers may be a solution but make sure you fit them so they lock to the 'wall' frame not just to each other. Measure the height difference between door frame and wall frame and buy the heaviest jammers you can find with locks.

Take it out, uptight the screw in the middle abit, reinstall. You can spray wd40 if u wish

Don't install them the same side of the lock workings as you will jam the lock. Also if you have a hinge that doesn't close all the way in you can pop a jammer there and it will pull it in, to get that perfect seal again.

well they can, but that will create noise which will alert neighbours. there are other sash jammers out there with keylocks.

Most doors, especially with a full pane, will be toughened glass so will shatter into small pieces. Then they can just walk straight through the now broken glass panels anyway so the locks will be irrelevant. But because of the heavy noise from breaking such glass most thieves won't want to do that.
