This AquaCare shower head advertises no tools are needed, and that hand-tightening is enough without using channel lock pliers. Are they wrong?
@mechanicsfornonmechanics89982 жыл бұрын
You know I can't really say one way or another because I personally DID use the channel locks on mine, but if that's what they say, I guess you could test it out and see run the water and see if you get any leaks. Obviously, if you do, then you might want to use channel locks (as I did in the video) to make it a bit tighter. If you do it, with just hand tightening, let me know how it goes 👍

Why do u have to turn off the water?
@mechanicsfornonmechanics89982 жыл бұрын
Great question. I might just do it as a precaution. It is true that until you actually turn the water on, no water will be coming out, but different people may have their systems set up differently, so anytime people are working with their water systems, I always generally recommend they shut their water off going into the house. Thanks for the question.

I am really not sure how long it took, because we were filming a bit in between and stuff, but I did try and be as THOROUGH as I could going through each and every step, so I would say, as long as it takes for you watch the video, press pause, do the step and then move on to the next one. Of course, it also matters your technical background and stuff. That's actually a very interesting question. I wonder, how long does it take YOU ALL to install this shower head using the video we did as a help along the way? Let us know in the comments :)

Absolutely no reason to turn off the main water supply for this, and hand tighten only, unless you want to risk overtightening and cracking the housings.

The instructions from AquaCare say only use plumber's tape ONLY if washer fails to stop leakage. Any idea why they recommends that, given you proactively used the tape on all the threads?

Oh ok I must have missed that in the instructions. I would like to take a look at that. Do you know what page that is in the instructions? Thanks

It's on the one piece of paper insert that has instructions on both sides. It says "IMPORTANT: Use plumber's tape (included) ONLY if needed on shower arm thread if Washer fails to stop leakage. DO NOT use it on any other connections." I am unable to upload a photo of it here.

Why turn off the water to change a shower head??????
@mechanicsfornonmechanics89982 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. Just as a precaution. I will probably say it in every video that has to do with water that I put out. Just like in any video I put out that has to do with electricity, I will mention to make sure the power is off. Some people may have a completely different or unconventional set up, so that’s all, just trying to be overly cautious with people who are watching.

Hi, I bought mine over a year ago and finally have it up, thanks to this video. I lost the instructions because when I first attempted, I couldn't get the old showerhead up and must've thrown them out accidentally. The video was so thorough and understandable even I was able to follow. The showerhead is wonderful. A great price for the showerhead with all its features and it feels luxurious. Thank you so much for this video.

Hi, I hope you don't mind I ask a question? When I put my showerhead up, and tested for leaks there weren't any. But today after use, I noticed a small tear drop drip coming from where we screw it on to the shower arm. It's very slow but I don't know what that means. Will it cause a plumbing problem? I live in an apartment and don't want to cause damage to the unit. I hope you respond. It was so easy to put up and thought it worked but now just the very slow tear drop leak.
@mechanicsfornonmechanics8998 Жыл бұрын
@@serenaklungness3010 Thanks for the question, it is tough to say. It could be that you can just tighten it a bit more, OR it could be (possibly) that you tightened it too much. Did you use Teflon tape? Without being there, I can't tell you which one of the options is the cause (or it could be something totally different). Those are just some of my thoughts. Sorry, with drips though it is always a tough situation (for me as well) to know whether I tightened it enough, or if I need to go a bit further (or like I said, there is the possibility of going too far as well).

Thank you for this! How do you like the different streams, and do you find the power-wash feature to be strong and helpful with cleaning?
@mechanicsfornonmechanics8998 Жыл бұрын
Yes I do. Anytime we put the baby in the tub, we will first make sure it is clean with that feature. Also if the baby ever poops in the bath tub (sorry but it happens), we use that spray function and it sprays all that stuff out and down the drain really well.

WHAT IS YOU POINT IN SHUTTING THE WATER OFF, I HAD NO PROBLEMS EVER CHANGING MY SHOWER HEADS WITHOUIT SHUTTING WATER OFF
@mechanicsfornonmechanics8998 Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the question. I understand turning the water off when changing a shower head seems completely ridiculous, but I always tell people to turn the water off when dealing with anything water-related. The reason is that it is easy enough to do, and I can’t see what peoples water systems look like that are watching the video. Maybe their shut off is not sealed properly, or their setup is different, and then they end taking off their old shower head off and water goes everywhere and then they are wondering why I didn’t tell them to shut the water off. So I will ALWAYS tell people to shut their water off when dealing with water projects. That’s the best way I can explain it; hope that helps. Thanks again!
