Just wondering, do all accounts on the headset have access to the games installed from sidequest?

@@jamestang9095once you switch accounts on the headset, they each have their own set of stuff in "unknown apps" you'd probably have to at least get each account to have Dev mode, install the APK, download the game onto each account, and go from there. I'm not positive you could play online if it even works.

Its a bug in the Meta implementation of Android 12, Scoped Storage just allows you to install things.

At 2:30 ,when I click step one, the files pop up appears but I have no files to select from like in the video. I can go back to data and android and quest 2 butbi cant use the apk. If anyone can please help, i would greatly appreciate it.

I just tried it but it doesn’t show step 1 in configuration wizard. How did you get around it?

@iFlorex The menu she shows has changed slightly. Follow her steps exactly until you get to the point where you click on the button "configure scoped storage". Click it then GO TO THE BOTTOM OPTION where it says "configure scoped storage" again and click that. Then just click the top button that says "Request Access". The steps are the same as in the video afterward. The all caps are just to emphasize where the program differs now from her version. Hope this helps! Sorry it took me a couple days to see this and respond.

Thanks so much!!! Worked for me on Oct 17 2024, software version v69. Got tired of the virtual environment background sounds on the Quest 3 (with passthrough turned off) while trying to watch KZbin, Virtual Desktop, or while using the Meta browser. I sideloaded "The Void" virtual environment from Sidequest, so now my environment is just peacefully SILENT and BLACK. 😁

Can you change the headset resolution in sidequest on the headset if you follow this installation? Last time i tried i had to do that on the PC-app on every reset.

Still working just done mine although when you hit sources it comes up more info so you have to go bottom for sources again but was easy none the less

Didn't work for me. Got all the way to the end, and got the message that the app didn't install as the app package "appears to be invalid". I even ran through all the steps a second time, but same result

@@RedisdaGamer Yup, it worked! I haven't tried sideloading any games yet though, since that requires developer mode which requires a PC that i currently don't have access to atm. I'm guessing sideloading games works too, though.

nope. "modding" via in mobile vr station no longer works because of meta. I am just about ready to burn down the city wasting trillions of hours trying to get sidequest installed. Not a single fucking thing works

I’m with you honestly. I want modding to be an easy or atleast guaranteed procedure. I wouldn’t mind if it takes a long time with many steps to mod on standalone as long as you know 100% it will work instead of being a fucking gamble of your time
