I watch a lot of Fix-It videos. Sometimes I cringe or chuckle watching other people fix stuff. But you, my friend are a master. Really nice work. Thanks, I learned a lot

I’ve never had any desire to install a starter/alternator on my 78 9.9 and probably never will, but this was the most mesmerizing video I’ve ever watched - well done! The more I learn about these motors the more I’m amazed at how much there is to know and learn about them from people who make it look so easy! Cheers

I have a 9.9 hp Evinrude E10RCSE but I don't have those 2 brackets with 2 bolts to hold the starter against the body, any suggestion or ideas are appreciated. Thx
Very good video, roughly what was the cost for complet conversation and where can the stater with generator be found

I can tell you how much this conversion cost because I have the parts left over from different motors. You can buy the parts from Ebay and Facebook marketplace. The alternator is coming from 9.9HP Johnson or Evinrude. Here is the website to find the parts numbers. www.marineengine.com/parts/johnson-evinrude-parts.php?year=1981&hp=15&model=E15RCIS

I have a 1986 johnson 9.9 15 hp manual start J15RCDE, I plan to convert to an electric start. I have the correct flywheel and starter bracket coming along with a rectifier and junction box but having problems locating the correct stator assembly any suggestion to move this project along. the starter itself and electrical wiring and start switch seem to be available. i would appreciate any suggestions.

Hi, 1986 is already with a CDI ignition. I believe you only need to replace the fly wheel and add the starter. Please browse the comments on this video and I believe that I have posted a link somewhere with a wire diagram. If you can't find it I'll have to look to find it again and I will repost it here.

What is the best way to buy all the parts for the motor? Is there a website
Maybe you can help me I have a 1980s evinrude 9.9 and it has a starter on it and all the parts I see in this video but I have 3 lose wires on the last terminal on the bottom and one lose wire on the first terminal on the top. I don't have that big black plug on the back though. I'm not sure what to do to get that starter working and I cant find a digram showing me how, any ideas ?

I am installing ignition module with a incorporated alternator on this outboard motor. The round silver part is a voltage regulator and the black long part with multiple cables is connecting terminal. I'm attaching a link with a wiring diagram. In general, it is identical for all motors with the exception of the very first models with point ignition. outboardmanuals.net/wiring-diagrams/johnson-1977-outboard-wiring-diagram-9-9hp-and-15hp-electric-start-models/
