How would you do this if the beam was steel and post was steel? Also why did you not level out the footing to the rest of the concrete level? Just wondering if there was a specific reason?

what size post did use?

I thought the adjustable end had to be encased for it to be considered permanent. Meaning if it is adjustable in any way, it is considered temporary.

I know all that work and he puts temp posts up

In the US this is true, in Canada there are regulated adjustable columns that are allowed to be installed permanently like this. They can't just be any adjustable column they must be certified for use in Canada. National Building Code of Canada, Article number CAN/CGSB-7.2-94 entitled “Adjustable Steel Columns”, which allows single-tube adjustable columns

Thanks for this. I have a heavy duty tripod hoist that I purchased from Pierre Menard in Quebec. I want to make a 3’X2’ pillar post. I might be thinking too much but I want to put 2-4 rebar loops in the the post to lift it up. I’m redoing my fence line with my neighbors and my fence. It might be overkill but it’s the only way I can redesign my yard every 5 years. Have you ever made a rebar reinforced cement post for 4”X4” posts. I’m trying to figure out a way so that I don’t have to dig up the posts when they rot. Thanks.

I thought should use 3 inch post filled with concrete inside.
@scottmcphee77302 ай бұрын
You bought the correct Concrete, but then changed the mixture because you thought you knew better? Your concrete was also WAY over saturated with water. Hopefully that post isn't holding a lot of weight. The concrete it's sitting on us forever compromised.

If that hole is 3 feet by 3 feet then you must be 9 feet tall.
@henrygonzalez5872 Жыл бұрын
Why didn’t you use rebar to tie existing slab #. Drill holes and place rebar to tie footing 🫤
@kaiul2967 Жыл бұрын
If footing shifts you don't want it to destroy the current slab.
