Really love the work! But you should use glue/adhesive in between each lvl before structural screws to be one solid beam. Otherwise that trick to keep it plumb was good!

Nice work Ryan - for extra strength you should have laminated your LVL's with glue and then screwed them together - also where is the load being transferred ?? you should have created pockets in the walls at either end of the LVL's with a cap stone on which the LVL's would sit - also as the floor is not level the LVL's should have been blocked to suit the wave in the floor joists - don't forget to put blocking or clips to fix each floor joist to your LVL's - there should be at least one concrete filled steel post set into a footing to pick up the weight at least in the middle.

Would have been nice if the floor joists were cut to allow the beam to go up into the floor cavity to give more ceiling height . I guess that basement is rarely used

yea that would be the better thing to do,but it would have been too much stuff to be remove ,so we decided to do it this way thanks
