Ram dealer has told me that compressing the spring and adding the spacer inside the strut like this will lead to a lot of bouncing on the road, and that the type that goes on top of the strut is much better and safer! He said they have had many people come in saying that their trucks are bouncing all over the place and they all had these types of spacer installs done. Agree with BriceGarrett below about the control arms as well, but I think that has a lot do do with how much 'off roading' you do too. Other than that, great video, thanks for posting.

Just purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 2wd new body style and I plan to put on a 2.5 front leveling kit with 35x12.5 tires on 18x9 wheels! Does anyone have any knowledge as to if this would cause any rubbing? If so what can be done to combat that issue? Also, will I absolutely need to purchase to control arms? And why? (First time truck buyer & first time dealing with large wheels/tires and any type of leveling kit)

I prefer the strut spacer style over these because they keep your shocks at stock stretch. The preloaded spacer only goes over the spring causing your stock shocks to sit stretched out if a shock spacer isn’t used. Plus much easier and fast installation time.

@@bull5919 is there extra wear on components? Why are spacers bad?
@bull59194 жыл бұрын
Victor McGrew think about the travel on your stock shocks vs a shock that’s built length wise to handle the correct travel. Anyone tell you they aren’t bad they aren’t giving you the complete run down. As for wheels they are bad as well By increasing the offset of the wheel, you place more stress on the axle’s studs, and in a front axle application on the unit bearings (or spindles) and ball joints of the axle
@firedawg19983 жыл бұрын
These ones are fine, they dont extend the travel, they just change the position the shock travel sits in on level ground, not any harder on balljoints where a top spacer allows the lower control arm to extend past a factory balljoints range of motion. Warlock trucks now come with a 1" lift from the factory that use the exact same principle as this 2".

Why is it important to make the marks and keep them lined up? I got a level installed and I hear a thump. I’m wondering if it’s because they didn’t line it back in property

The instruction were easy to follow, but torque specs for the sway bar, UCA, and strut mount would've been nice.

the angle on that UCA is terrible. It will pop hitting a pothole. Do you recommend aftermarket UCA's with this kit? You should.
@yanniobkirk57443 жыл бұрын
I must have missed the video of the UCA angle with the truck on the ground. They only showed it with the truck in the air with no load on the suspension.

So wrong...... this type of " lift " does not exrend the range of a factory strut. Thus, the factory range on the balljoint is fine, it just keeps the strut slightly extended instead of say, floating right in the middle of its range, it is now sitting slightly more extended. Easy peasy. Its the top mounted spacers that cause damage, have always leveled my rams. No issues.

I'm no Joe Mechanic by any stretch but that to me just looks like you're asking to shorten the life of the shocks and springs. The shocks are now stretched out and the springs are compressed. No way this will not adversely affect the ride quality. No thanks, I would either stay stock, or get a lift kit to make it the right way.
@kdu80044 жыл бұрын
You can also get a 2" lift blocks that just sit on top of the oil spring assembly. That theoretically should not change the spring displacement and shouldn't change the ride quality all that much.

Installed on my 2019 Ram, and took the kit back out again. The levelling kit will make your truck sloppy and cause your whole front end geometry to change. I do not recommend to do what this guy did at all, instead go for a real Mopar 2 inch lift.

Sorry to say its nice you gave good instructions but this is not the proper way to do a leveling, nope this is the 60 dollar parts and 300 dollar labor at your local 4x4 shop, STOP don't do this, now if you go to a real serious 4 X 4 Shop the mechanic will tell you this is the dirty way and if done the right way you buy OEM upper control arms from mopar or aftermartket for about the same price that are engineered to give you factory specs on your alignment and properly lift the front, plus if done by a certified chrysler shop its does not void your warranty, doing this the dirty way will destroy your front end in a year if you offroad at all because the joints are not meant to be at such angels for long, they will wear faster because your control arms will over extend so do it right if you love your truck, spend the money and let a professional level your truck to factory specs with the right parts.. You can be dirty or be professional its your choice. You been warned.
