I am so glad I found your tutorial on the Featherweight 221 on KZbin. It is so very well done with great video and your explanations and tips. My wife is a member of the Quilts of Valor organization. Her chapter is called the Quilts of Valor of the Ozarks. This organization makes quilts for military veterans of all branches of the Armed Services to honor them. Each quilt has the vets name, branch of service, date of discharge and a number that is recorded with the QOV and that quilt is theirs and theirs only. She will use this machine when she goes to "sew day" where quilters gather for meetings, sewing and a Show and Tell of patriotic quilts they are making. The Featherweight is popular among quilters because of it's small size and weight. I have added a Sew Steady extension from The Singer Featherweight Shop. I purchased everything for this restoration from them. Great Service.

How wonderful that your wife is involved in honoring our veterans in such a special way. Please let her know that I appreciate what she does! I am glad the videos were helpful and I just know that she will appreciate the time you took to restore the perfect machine for her projects! Yes, the Featherweight Shop is top notch, I appreciate them as well!

I can not thank you enough for your fantastic series on Featherweight restoration. When I decided to dismantle a very neglected FW, I found the process overwhelming. I followed each of your videos and completely refurbished the machine. I finished it today and while holding my breath, I plugged it in. It runs beautifully, the stitch is perfect and it hums!! I do name my machines and her name is Aoife - Irish for beautiful, radiant and joyful! That is what your guidance has helped me accomplish. I'm looking forward to your next project.

Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of information. This series was fantastic. I was able to refurbish a gifted 1952 FW, which was in need of TLC. Following this series gave me the confidence to take the parts off, clean, (including the motor)and then put everything back together. What a sense of accomplishment. The best part, it sews!!!😀 Thank you again.

You know that feeling you get when you read the last couple of pages of a wonderful book - you want to know the ending, but you don't want the great read to end? That's what I felt like watching this video. So I'm really looking foward to whatever "story" you write for us next - this one was great and has a very happy ending. :-)

Thank you for doing these complete videos. I watched them all and I’ll do it again! My Featherweight just went to the painter after I took everything apart for him. I’m so excited! When she comes back I’ll be watching and working along side you to put her back together. I currently am in possession of 14 machines, some are being redone and some are my own. But, my 87 y/o Featherweight has been my favorite to sew on since I got her… beating out my 3 year old machine and my 113 y/o machine.

Thanks so much for your series! I seem to be stalling in putting the bed extension back on and I think it's because I had so much fun and learned quite a bit going through your entire series, I just don't want it to end. Highly appreciated.

Thank you for such an amazing informative and professional video. I've just bought my first Feathweigh sewing machine. I haven't used a sewing machine in many years. Hopefully, and with your guidance, I will eventually master the art of sewing.

Changing the foot control on my singer featherweight was a great idea. Thanks for that suggestion

It really does make a difference, I like keeping the originals just for the complete package but the new ones are far less maintenance.
