Thanks for posting. Even though the singer I found is 15-91 built into a cabinet your video provided me enough guidance to get my belt replaced and working again.

Amazing! I just watched everyone! Thank you. I have a featherweight that is completely bound up. Can’t wait to see what is wrong.

Hi! Thank you for watching! You will have to keep me posted as you go, there are several reasons a machine can bind and I love figuring out what the problem is. Make sure you get plenty of oil in all the places it should go and as you remove parts keep checking how its moving so you know when you have got to the problem. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

Clear and concise and very good as always (especially with that handy "view" to check whether the clutch release washer needs to be turned 180-degrees before putting in the screw) - thank you! Sometimes when the needle bar wants to intermittently go up and down for no apparent reason, even though I've engaged the stop-motion, I find that just putting the presser foot down is enough to stop the needle bar going up and down. It is as if the grip of the handwheel on the bushing is just on the cusp of being loosened enough to work every time and the "extra load" introduced into the system from just putting the presser foot down is enough to overcome it. I can't quite recall where I first heard that - probably either Bob or Andytube, maybe both - but it works for me much more often than not. (Of course, I've always taken off the handwheel and thoroughly cleaned the the bushing and the hub of the handwheel before I resort to the "I guess I'll just put the presser foot down then" solution. But I know you've already done that with this machine here so it would be interesting to know if putting the presser foot down works for your situation too - even if you're going to do a more permanent solution.) :-)

Megan, I haven’t tried that but I am going to. Funny because the last order I got from the Featherweight shop had a little card with tips and tricks on it and it actually says “Lower the presser foot to keep the needle from going up and down when winding a bobbin.” I thought it was a misprint! Haha! Why have I never heard that? So, I am going to see if that works but this is the first Featherweight I will have ever had to do that with to totally stop the motion of the needle, all the others haven’t needed it. But it must be common if they are putting that on their little cards they include with orders. Either way, I already ordered a new collar/bushing and am kind of excited to take this one off now. :)

@@SewingMachineRehab Well - fancy that! I've been meaning to get some of those little "tip cards" but haven't got round to it yet. I've not had that problem with the FW I've cleaned up (can't have, I haven't got it back together yet!) :-) But I have struck it with my century-and-older 28Ks. I hope you make a video of your collar/bushing replacement just in case I ever do have to do it.

You should swap number 19 and 20 in the list, because you need the belt (now episode 20) before sewing (now episode 19).
