How to INSTALL the Chinese DIESEL HEATER full tutorial | DIY Van Conversion Ep. 10

While we wait for winter to pass, we decided to work on a new project; converting a cargo van Ford E250 into a camper van. We expect this endeavor to occupy us for the next couple months and decided to bring you along as we transform this van into our new part time home.
We are learning a lot as we are doing (as always), so don't hesitate if you have any questions about your own conversion, it will be a pleasure to share tips and tricks, if possible.

The little square pads on the tank are where you put the metal fuel pipe through.

Hello from France Be careful, carbon monoxide is not smoke: it does not rise, it is as heavy as the ambient air. It is therefore necessary to place the detector at the same height as the heating appliance, and ideally at the height of the bed because it is when you sleep that the risks are highest.

I like when your older videos pop up. These are great heaters, I installed one in my VW Westfalia and its awesome! I can use it while driving as well as camping. Even comes with a remote so i can control it while driving. Nice install, thanks for sharing! I see in upcoming videos you install solar, that I did as well, I didnt mount them on the van, rather have a simple folding frame that I mount them on (2x110 watt panels) this way i can face them and track the sun. There awesome!

I agree with the comment below. This video is BY FAR THE BEST we have seen on installing a diesel heater. Very clear and extremely helpful. We cant thank you enough. We are planning on installing one on our boat but the directions were very vague. We watched lots of videos but no one showed how to connect to the diesel tank provided. Well done, great job!

Great video but a few things I think might help improve. The size hole for the tank is 8mm drill bit. Drill the fuel tank on the top of the tank and use a dip feed pipe as it will leak on the bottom after awhile it's inevitable. You don't need to use a voltage regulator . And carbon alarm should be head height thanks

I would put the filter directly onto the black hose on the tank . Save 2 clamps and some hose

this white/transparent fuel lines in these sets very often are poor quality, worth to replace for branded

They are apparently better than the green tubes that some kits come with. We haven't had problems with them yet, but we will see how they fare over time

Did you seal between mounting plate and van floor to prevent gases coming in - especially if the exhaust pipe comes loose?

Update to yesterdays comment below: the diesel placed into heater was "old" and maybe the source of the problem. Emptied out system and replaced with fresh diesel, still no joy. Totally baffled now. No choice but to uninstall if can't get it working by lunchtime. "Great video but the product itself has issues. I followed the instructions to the letter, primed the unit, hit go...and ERROR O6 came up. The fan starts for about 1 second, then everything goes dead. Again and again. Been through a bunch of other KZbin videos and no one has a good fix for Error 06. Several videos discuss Error 06 issues, in terms of stripping the whole unit and buying new components, new motherboard, motor, etc but mine is brand new out of the box for god sake. Spent 2 days fitting the kit to my van, now looking at spending tomorrow (3rd day) ripping it all out again. The biggest waste of time and money I have ever known. People need warning about this, not enticing into a yet another corporate scam."

I have that exact manual. It says the fuel tube must run uphill from pump to heater...any issues?

Very nice job guys, but a complicated system and of course a bit dangerous if that carbon monoxide detector fails at the wrong time. A electric occolating heater connected to solar would not have been efficient?
