I’m doing my first ever engine build on a L28. I got it striped down to the block and I have learned so much from you thank you so much for your videos!🤘

What size oil galley plugs did you use? The thread size, apt? This is a mod I believe it’s usually a solid plug

I want to say is was 5/8” but I just used what my machine shop had, the most important thing is that it doesn’t go too deep as there is a channel also that turns and you don’t want to block it. Yes, it’s normally a aluminum slug basically. It probably wouldn’t happen but sometimes they decide to go.

No lock tight for baffle screws?

I'd really like to do something like this in the future, and starting with a 240/260/280Z and their respective engines seems like a good choice due to relative simplicity and working space within the engine bay. Can you recommend a good resource to read up on the details of this kind of build (e.g., specs for front/back counterweight movement)?

What bolts did you reuse? Main(crank) , rod bolts, or head bolts? Some say everything needs to be replaced. But that would be expensive
@CarsBikesandCoffee Жыл бұрын
Replaced the rod bolts. Head and crank bolts were in good condition. From my understanding these aren’t stretched bolts and could get away with at least one rebuild. If it wasn’t a n/a build, I would say replace it all.

Love the vid. Quick question though, are the seals supposed to protrude out slightly? Shouldn't they end up being flush with the block?
@CarsBikesandCoffee3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Which seals are we talking about?
@danielzammit51603 жыл бұрын
@@CarsBikesandCoffee the rear main cap seals
@CarsBikesandCoffee3 жыл бұрын
@@danielzammit5160 yeah you want to tap them on once we get to putting on the oil pan. Some people trim the excess.
