Have this door and love it - great value and classy look! A couple notes to consider for those installing this door: 1) The fixed glass side (non-moving panel) is prone to leaking along the bottom and wall side. The rubber seal (aka "water deflector") included in the installation guide at 5:12 is not sufficient to seal against water leakage. Recommend drawing a bead of silicon along the bottom and wall side where the glass meets the metal frame to ensure a water-tight fit _instead_ of the rubber seal. 2) The rubber "side gasket" shown at 11:14 is prone to making a loud squeaking noise as the door is opened and closed - especially when the glass panes are dry. Reversing the gasket to attach to the fixed glass side (rather than the moving door panel) functions perfectly well and reduces/eliminates the squeaking sound. 3) The video is mentions this briefly at the end, but it is important to seal around *both* sides of the metal frame where they meet the walls and floor pan to ensure a good water seal. This includes (especially!) the corner where the wall meets the floor on the inside of the fixed glass wall. Due to potentially poor drainage into the pan, this area is a high risk for water leaking through gaps between the tile and floor pan.

I’m currently in the middle of installing one of these doors. The instructions that come with it are definitely not clear at all. This video helped a little but I still managed to drill two holes on the wrong side of the wall mount on the sliding door side. Hopefully that will be the last mistake I make. A little caulking will take care of the holes.

Thank you for this video. Extremely helpful and great to watch in addition to the paper instructions. I didn't see this in the video or the instructions... You use wall anchors in some of the early steps in attaching posts and connections. If I'm drilling into studs, I'm assuming that I don't need the anchors and I'd use a smaller drill bit, correct?
@americanstandard3 жыл бұрын
Hello MJ! You are not required to use the anchors for install and can use a smaller bit to drill into the stud. Thanks for your question!

I'm installing this door in reverse, fixed panel on the right. Directions are so-so, you really need to pay attention, plan, dry fit, then install. My issue is on the 60" opening I have, the horizontal bar is too short, and the pre drilled holes in the glass don't line up. Its Saturday, and help line is closed till Monday. frustrating beyond belief!!!

Our shower base has a 2 1/2” threshold. Would this be wide enough for the center door guide bracket?
@americanstandard3 жыл бұрын
Hello Jason - The threshold of the base needs to be at least 2-3/4” for the door to work. Thanks for your question!

@HungLe-vx7cg4 жыл бұрын
Can it be reversed? The fixed panel on the right and the moving door on left?
@americanstandard4 жыл бұрын
Hi Hung - The Passage shower door can be reversed. You would need to flip the frame and the doors in order for it to work in the opposite way. You would follow the same installation instructions, just bearing in mind that everything would then be reversed. Thanks for your question!

What they don't show in their warehouse non-real world install is their shower base outer edge slopes 3/4"! So you make your measurements from the shower base and your sliding door will have a 1" gap at the bottom. Spent hours going round and round only to figure out the problem. We did everything right. What a PITA!
@americanstandard4 жыл бұрын
Hi There - Sorry for the frustration! Did you measure in from the inside of the ¾” roll out? It actually should have been measured from the outside of the base on the floor, which may have been what caused the confusion. It sounds like you're set now, but if we can be of further assistance at all, please give us a call at 800-442-1902 so we can get some more details. Thanks!
