Hello, im currently trying to inject missions into a .dss save file on Drastic for android but have no clue as to how. Could it be posible to change it to a .sav file, inject, then rename back to a .dss? And also, if the rom I use has (E) (Xenophobia) in the name, does that change anything?

It worked with Shadows of Almia and Guardian Signs when i did the same steps. But I have a problem: can´t find both missions of Giratina and Arceus in my save file, as there are only four missions. That means I have 2/3. Do you know what to do?

I got Mission Injector to work for my GS file, but when I started them up they all mentioned they were corrupted and got deleted. (Also, the Arceus Mission wasn't in the list, but that's the lesser of two evils.)

Ahh, you gotta do that jigglling trick I mentioned around the importing sav section, the sav not being fully imported might be the reason why the mission are corrupt

@@Pichu647 Yeah I have that too, I injected all of the stuff and went to do the Deoxys mission but it told me it was corrupt and deleted it.

@derlenx1097 I was a dumbass and misunderstood what they said. So Guardian Signs doesn't work, there were fixed files but they are no longer obtainable. You'll need to use Wiimmfi to get these mission. Alternatively, I can give u a blank sav if u need that

I wouldn't know, sorry. I've never attempted it. Perhaps go to a checkpoint tutorial, I imagine some who used PokeHex to hack a competitive would know what they're doing

You gotta delete your save file entirely, and I don't mean restarting your game, I mean completely wipe all data from your cartridge.

Hey there! hate to bug you, but I'm having a few issues. I am new to using an emulator, but I've finished the entirety of PRSA normally. I went to the site and downloaded the extra missions but every time I try to transport them to the emulator it just doesn't show or doesn't work, saying it is "invalid". I'm doing this on laptop so I'm wondering if you could help. Thanks!

So I did mission injector successfully, renamed the file, but the desmume thing still says the “Rom header is invalid.” Is there a way to change it so that will work? FYI, it says all .nds, .da.gba, Srl, zip, 7z, rar, and gz are usable files. Anyway to fix that?

hey, I have the official ranger physical carts, I have an R4, and a DS Lite how would I export the saves from the ranger carts onto my PC? I've done it with GBA's before (GBA backup tool) but unsure how to get the same results with NDS games (Ranger, platinum, etc.) From the guide in the description, it seems my best bet is to use the DNS thing, but I'm specifically wondering if / how I can export NDS saves from a DS Lite with an R4, is it possible? thank you!

- "How would I export the saves from the ranger carts onto my PC?" - You can use an external dongle (I used the r4i dongle) or a modded 3DS, I've never attempted with the 3DS so you'll need to KZbin that yourself. - "It seems my best bet is to use the DNS thing" - It's definitely the easier method for the official cart, refer to the Wiimfi video for that. If you can't bothered buying an external dongle or modding your 3DS then just use that method instead - "how I can export NDS saves from a DS Lite with an R4, is it possible?" - If it is possible then I wouldn't know, personally I don't think it is possible.

Either borrow a pc or try other DNS settings, I know there are at least 3 different secondary dns's (also ensure that WiFi security setting are turned off as most DS game only support WEP/Open connections).

I am familiar with this error, there is something wrong with your SAV file. I was able to fix this using the wiimfi method

There's something wrong with your sav. I've seen this issue before. I was able to fix it by using the Wiimfi method to redownload the missions

How can I manage the save files with my hacked 2DS ? I use FTPD for to access my files in Twilight Menu. But when there is my PRSA.sav or/and PRSA-Wifi.sav, it recreate a new game save file. I have to rename my PRSA file to "Pokemon Ranger etc.... " For the DS to read it

I'm not familiar with 3DS hacking so I don't know what 'FTPD' is. But for the new file you mentioned, as long as it has the missions installed then it should be fine. But if you're looking for someone else's sav then you can find one on Google

I downloaded Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia via homebrew and I put the safe file and turned it into the Wi-Fi file but when I play the game it does nothing. Do I need to have to finish the game before I use this?

I'm not sure what you mean by homebrew, but typically you should be able to see the missions if installed correctly. And yes, you will need to reach a certain point in the game to play the missions; I don't remember the criteria but finishing the game should allow you to play all the missions

Hi! Sorry to bother you. I've been having some difficulty getting these missions on my physical cart. I've tried the DNS method several times and it refused to work; it wouldn't do an initial connection to the internet, and even with changing the secondary DNS numbers it never connected. I tried two different phone hotspots and got the same results. I decided to try this method by using Checkpoint on my 3DS and the injector EXE. I know the file injection worked, because I can run the updated .sav file with the Ranger Net missions through an emulator on my PC, but now Checkpoint won't load/restore that file on my 3DS. Do you have any other advice on what to try?

Yeah, I have no experience with Checkpoint so I wouldn't know how to help you there. You probably should ask the person who tutorial you followed There was a third DNS method if you haven't tried yet, leaving it blank (whatever DNS number that changes). That worked for some people

Hi, I know this is a little late, but were you using an iPhone as your hotspot? iPhone hotspots don’t work because they require a password, you’d need an Android device where you can turn the required password off

for checkpoint you need to run the game normally once for the app the register it. then load up checkpoint and restore the save.

If you're injecting into SoA and/or GS then sure, though you'll need a second DS to transfer it into DPPtHGSS

@FlemetAeton For save injection/ wiimmfi it's 1 per save, for the re-importing a SAV then it's as many as you want (you'll need to import a save BEFORE the egg is sent otherwise this method won't work)

(Guardian Signs - Europe German) After all this time I tried it with injection this time (Wifi download somehow already didnt work for me)... I have a modded 3ds now, a r4 save dongle, I tried multiple combinations of downloading and flashing the save file. Always injecting into the new acquired save file (download safe file via Checkpoint, upload with SaveDongle, other way around, checkpoint only, savedongle only). SaveDongle flashing ran into issues (jiggling solved that for whatever reason). Flashing the save file using Checkpoint never ran into any issues. Both ways, flashed save files have corrupted missions which ends up in their deletion :( I also tried to run the injected save file using the desmume emulator and see if flashing might be the issue, still the missions didnt work. So I am kinda out of ideas what to try next... I just wanna play the special missions ._.

I've been having horrible luck importing saves into RetroArch's desmume. I wanted to revisit these games after so long and after remembering about the special missions a few hours in, I stopped to check out your videos. I first started with importing the save files from gamefaqs and used this tool www.save-editor.com/tools/wse_ds_save_converter.html to convert the DUC's into DSV's and renamed the converted save to replace the one in \RetroArch\Saves. The game instead loaded as if there was no save at all (no special missions either). Whats worse is now the game can't even write to the current save file, even if I delete the save and have the emulator generate a fresh one. I've since tried converting the save to SAV, using the injector, and converted back to DSV and still nothing. All I have is a save state I randomly made a few hours in and saving after loading that still cant correctly write to the save location. Do you think I should just use desmume standalone at this point? I get horrible performance after going through a few areas, only temperately solved by restarting the emulator. It's definitely not my hardware as my 5800x and 3080 should shatter emulation requirements but im wondering if other get this too...

Yeah, the I never liked the conversion site as it never worked for me either. IIRC, I had better success manually changing the extension than converting it. Though, I have never heard of Retroarch so I don't have any immediate solutions, sorry. But weird how you can't use SAV files as that's what the DS uses. I'll have to research it in the future.

I managed to clear the corrupted save by deleting it while Retroarch's main menu was running (not with the game running), running the game, loading the save state, and saving in game. From there, I took the save file, used an offline save converter (NDS Save File Converter v2.5) to convert from .dsv to .sav, inject content, and convert back to .dsv and renamed the file. Since then, everything has magically worked well. Thanks a lot for this guide man!

No idea, I would have to play around with your SAV file to find out. But are you using an existing SAV or a brand new one?

This video is best suited for people that use a flashcard and emulator, though it can also be used for the official cartridge if you know how to import/export your save. It practically the same thing as the original video. Although, the best method for the original cartridge is the Wiimmfi method. KZbin it if you don't know how to use this or you can wait for the tutorial I'll eventually upload in December; up to you.

It's really not that complicated. In a nutshell, export the save, inject the missions, import the save back into the cartridge, done. Alternatively, if you're cartridge doesn't have the Ranger DLC then you can watch the Wiimfi video. I think it was the pinned comment

Look, I haven't done anything with my modded 3ds so this is me guessing. To me, it looks like a ds emulator but I'm not sure what save file extension it uses. If it's not a SAV then you'll probably need to convert it into a SAV, but that may have issues. You could also try the wiimfi method if that's easier, should be the pinned comment
