How to install the Rockford Fosgate Stage 5 Upgrade! 12" Sub? Yes please!

Last week we installed the Stage 2 audio in the PRO XP after installing the Ride Command system. This week, we're stepping it up to STAGE 5! Adding speakers, swapping speakers, and adding a 12" sub under the dash!

There was that one step with the sub, placing the wiring harness in the tray...I don't know if I could do that. I'm gonna need more explanations!

I can't make it any clearer than that! Place in tray [throws it randomly at machine] and onto the next step! Seriously though, pulling that tray out with all the accessories and wiring was AWFUL. Here's hoping I don't have to do that again!

Thanks for the video! I’m on the fence about out doing the upgrade on my Pro R ultimate. On my previous builds I had stage 5 and 6 on my cars so I don’t want to throw my money away if it’s not loud enough. Do you know if it’s actually louder than the setup the ultimate comes with? I know it also adds a subwoofer and new speakers, but wasn’t sure the highs got clearer and louder as well. Thanks!

Hey there! If I'm not mistaken, your Ultimate likely came with Stage 2, which is 2 tweeters and 2 speakers under the dash, nothing in the back. If that's the case, going up to Stage 5 is a whole new animal. Overall, the volume is MUCH higher than Stage 2. So loud that I can't run it at max volume. I find myself running the volume at around 7 most of the time. The highs are very loud and clear. The sub adds a ton to the bottom vs just the dash speakers - very tight bass, but it's a higher bass. It doesn't really reach down into the sub-bass at all. I was hoping for a little more down there, but it's not surprising for a 400 watt sub with a small enclosure like this. Kick-bass and bass lines are strong. Around 50hz and lower fall right off. The equalizer on the Ride Command is pretty awful. If you have an Android phone, search for the equalizer in your settings and use that instead and leave the Ride Command eq flat. FAR better sound. Overall I really like it and have no regrets! The volume and quality depend a lot on your source though. My buddy has an Apple phone and his is quieter and sounds a little muddy in my opinion. Everyone has a different ear for sound, but I am pleased with this setup! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

Where is the amp installed?

The subwoofer's amp is internal to the enclosure. There is just a plug on one side that connects to the audio wiring harness. It's separate from the Rockford Fosgate amp that powers the speakers, which is bolted to the inside of the dash right behind the head unit.
