How to install the Roland Integra 7

After seeing so many people having troubling installing the Roland Integra 7, I decided to do a show me how video. Oh and welcome the new addition to the studio!!!

Great tips! I use a Windows DAW called BandLab and cannot get the Integra sound labels to display at all. Hate to think I need to change DAW just to work with the Integra-7. Does Ableton clearly show the patch names vs numbers?

Update I thought this fixed my issue, Mine will play once I restart for a little while then I get no volume no sound no nothing but midi and usb lights. I factory reset, uninstalled followed your instructions reinstalled, thought that solved my problems but didn't . Its been working fine for the 3 weeks I got it from sweet waters.. If you have a solution I'm open ears..

Hello ) Thanks for this video. Does Integra 7 have a weak BAS PART. Is it possible to boost to 60 or 100 Hz? I would like to buy Integre 7, I have XV5080 and 3080 Fantom G8. A lot of 7 integrals are sold on ebay. Maybe people already want something better than Roland, maybe Integra 8 with 256 polyphony. Anyway people get rid of the integrated, why?

I use the Integra currently for a sound module as I kick bass pedals similar to the pedals on an organ. Note the bass sounds are unbeatable as I play guitar sing and my feet play bass. But that 1500 bucks can go further using it as a sound module (I hope) for a midi keyboard controller

I have it plugged into my computer by USB. You're DAW will pick it up and you can use it to control the Integra

Quick question please. I see plenty of videos with a cord connected to the USB memory jack, and it looks like it's used to connect the Integra to an ipad. The manual says NOT to connect anything but a flash drive here. What's the scoop on this?

The USB slot in the front can be used for wireless connection to an iPad or you can use the iPad connection cable. I use the wireless connection. In my opinion its better to use the iPad its MUCH MUCH easier to navigate through the sounds. Using the Integra to find your sounds can be really slow. You have to constantly turn the wheel to find a sound. With the iPad you can breeze through just as you would a VST.

Yes you can actually record up to 16 different tracks/channels simultaneously with integra. In your DAW create 16 midi tracks and assign them to Integra. On the Integra you'll have 16 slots to add different sounds.

@@MIxstarsOnline yes ,but when we play 16 midi tracks we can only route 3 audio channels out from the Integra to teh DAW separate audio tracks..is it so.. because integra has only 3 stereo outputs for route channels..am i correct..?

@@jeewanharshanath5057 YES AND NO.. The way I have mine routed Im only using the audio outs 1 & 2 on the Integra as a source to hear my signal of the entire Integra. In my DAW I can have all 16 midi channels running at the same time and hear all 16 channels at once.

@@MIxstarsOnline ok i wanted to emphasize that if take overall stereo out mix to the DAW all the 16 channels will be recorded under one track stem and we cannot put different FX to each tone separately as we use each plugin for each track with the DAW.

What's good fam. Quick Update, the VST Editor Plug in is not AAX compliant. To run it in an AXX environment one must use a 3rd Party Plug In such as Blue Cat's "Patchwork". There are others out there but it is not plug and play for AAX users. Stay tuned. Hope to have results soon. Checking reviews on Plug In Options for VST to AAX.

A Manual designed by Martians for Martians only to read. Nothing new there then! Thanks a million for this. You should contact Roland and ask for payment for doing what they should have done in the first place. How a big organisation like this can release something without trialing it with the public is beyond me. It would be better for everyone if they did this and it makes good business sense too. My Integra is on order so I was reading up on it ahead of time. So you're saying you won't get audio from the Integra through USB, that you also have to connect it to the inputs of your audio interface? Yeah, that's pretty misleading on Roland's part, seeing the driver setting says, (midi + audio) and "USB audio." The Integra manual doesn't show anything like that when using the included Sonar DAW. It just says to connect it through USB.

Yes the USB just send the midi data but you still have to connect to cables into your interface to hear the actual sound. Their manual is very misleading.

@@MIxstarsOnline I got mine up and running through my Babyface Pro interface, but I noticed the two other settings (USB Audio and Midi thru ON) revert back to original settings when I turn the Integra off and back on. Not sure what is going on with that, but it still works. I am having a problem getting the A-49 to communicate through USB (through the computer). It only works using a direct midi cable to the Integra. Win 10 says the driver is installed, so I may have to contact Roland. So much for Plug and Play. It's more like Plug&Pray.

For the price and headache that is the Integra, a device now entering the 'vintage' realm, It is easier to use a modx for what you can do with the integra today.

I have the MoDx too but the integration has some really good vintage sounds that you can't find anywhere else unless you make them.

@@kanyaugatiejagwo I bought the Waldorf Quantum it has more power than the Iridium. I also have the Waldorf Blofeld. The Blofeld is cheap but has some lush sounds in it. Great for lush sounding pads.
