Ok what about aluminium skid plates? Same deal?
@CW-up7xv6 жыл бұрын
Tusk, why don't you just make a skid and link guard combo that is one piece? They already make them, would be nice to source them stateside.

*Eric Wahl* I like your thinking! We're on it sir.

Rocky Mountain ATV MC the 8mm thick plastic ones are great. The current one I have for my 2017 300xc has a plastic part that covers the coolant drain screw so if you were to make one please don't cover that screw!

What would it take to get a composite skid plate for the 09-current klx 250/300r made?

Great idea, but thats not gonna make it long before its peeled down from what would normally glide across the skid plate. Not to mention thats gonna just wear on your linkage from vibration and linkage movement. A real guard would have to bolt onto the shock clevis.

Good luck getting your average joe to do all this work... and have the tools to do it.

Most guys that own bikes do their own maintenance and have the tools for doing it!

I have been around for many moons and yes when you are part of a racing community or some specialized segment of the sport sure, most guys are fairly capable, however out of every 100 riders i know, probably 90 of them do not have a damn clue. Not knocking the product, but again good luck with getting people these days to buy a product that requires instructions and tools lol

this is not going to stop a hard impact on the linkage its not solid so it will partialy protect it from scrapes but you land hard on log or rock hoping over it b ut for price its helpful for sure but not ideal for hard enduro riding needs to be solid.
