January 2023 at the first MACC securement class, I asked Macc how he did not sleep without AC. Glad to see you came around to my way of thinking! LOL

I used to do this inb18 wheelers and we had to separate that exhaust and intake hose. Because it would cause high head pressure on ac unit cause intake was sucking up that hot air thats exhausting out. Just food for thought

What up MACC? Can you do a 1 year review/update on the AC Install and the pros and cons of the unit overall. What would you do different (if anything)? Keep up the awesome content bro.

Just a suggestion, make a screen out of wire mesh to keep criters and things from getting sucked in ... use sreens on both tubes... I see in the comments people suggesting useng a filter... I wouldn't do that because it restricts air flow and will affect the efficiency of the unit by restricting airflow and causing the compressor to work harder and destroying the life of the compressor....

How do you recharge the battery? On sleep mode it only gives you about 6hrs, maybe 6.5. Can you use it at anytime? Example, while waiting to get unloaded or unloaded.
@HotshotMacc
@HotshotMacc Жыл бұрын
I recharge the battery using a 1000 watt inverter when I’m driving. And yes those are the hours you’ll get on sleep mode. You can definitely use it anytime but during the day, depending on the outside temps it may be harder to cool down below 70

Thanks so much I’ve been struggling trying to get my air condition set up in the dually using a generator but this is an amazing set up. I’m just wondering are you able to charge that while you’re driving so that you always have it charged up at night?
@HotshotMacc

You can charge the battery while your driving with an inverter. If you watch my previous videos you’ll the the kind I’m using to charge. But it’s definitely convenient bro!

What’s the best lab top to get for trucking on the road for looking up loads and doing all the office work on lab top. Thanks

Man any laptop you can get your hands on that’s within your budget. We like the MacBook pro or even an iPad if it’s for the road. You wanna get something you can mount. But you also don’t want to be looking on the load boards while driving so maybe consider hiring a dispatcher if it’s just you running the business

Appreciate it big dog. Yeah I think I’m going to get the Mac laptop. It’s called a m2 air. Can’t afford the pro. I hope the m2 air will be good enough to look up loads on load boards

This is a neat little unit but $1,200+ for the unit and battery makes it hard to justify for the price. It’s also crazy how in the world of ac units the lower the btu the more expensive it is. It almost makes me want to quit hotshot and manufacture my own portable ac units to sell to other drivers at half the price 😅
@HotshotMacc
@HotshotMacc 4 ай бұрын
Seriously, right? It’s like the smaller the AC unit, the more they think it’s worth its weight in gold. If you end up starting your own portable AC empire, just remember us little guys who were sweating it out with overpriced units. You might just save us all from these crazy prices
@abmtz8537
@abmtz8537 4 ай бұрын
@@HotshotMacc I guess the portability and the fact that you won’t idle your truck as much helps justify the price. But to put it into perspective I just bought a midea u-shaped 8000 btu window unit for my office for $300 at Walmart. I just don’t know how every one at zero breeze agreed that $1.2k was a good price.

This business is a race straight to the bottom with these rates and sky high insurance - especially with those shitty ram trucks that break down all the time. I know the video was posted a year ago so the business was a little bit better, but I wouldn't be surprised if you are out of business! Good luck
@HotshotMacc
@HotshotMacc Ай бұрын
I get where you're coming from. The rates and insurance costs can definitely be tough, but it's all about adapting and finding the right balance. The truck issues can be a challenge too, but we stay on top of maintenance. We're still in business, buddy, and we’re not going anywhere. If you're running a one-man show, yeah, that could be a reason things didn’t work out. Appreciate the thoughts, and good luck to you as well
