[How To] Install Tinfoil on your Switch

When going on library devices and drivers the Switch micro SD doesnt even show up do you know why this could be i have a 128gb micro sd in my switch and its plugged into the computer it just wont showup

Are you sure the cable you are using has data transfer? Another way to install tinfoil is you can plug the Micro SD directly into your PC with a adapter & copy the tinfoil files that way aswell

@ I wasn’t sure it needed to have data transfer i will try with another cable if not i will go out and buy a reader thank you so much

@tequillaknight551 No Problem ofcourse, a good way to test if it's your cable or switch is to try plugging your phone into your PC with the same cable (if it also takes USB C ofcourse)

Just got my switch modded but I’m not sure how to work this system. It’s saying tinfoil is unable to open because my sd is to small .

@kiarose. How are you opening the hbmenu? through a game or the album if through the album thats more then likely the issue, try running the hbmenu using a Game & Holding "R" well launching

Do you know if Tinfoil can install backups to SD when using SysCFW? Can't find anything online about it. Thanks.

@@SirAzur3 Yes, but I personally suggest using apps like DBI, I do have a video on how to do so in the Switch Tutorials playlist Edit: Use DBI if you are installing from PC, if from a cartridge use Tinfoil

@@DinosJustGaming Thank you for the helpful information, do you recommend I update my switch to the latest version before modding it or should I leave it the way it is, I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I won't be playing it online or anything. If I do leave it on the old version, can I use the latest atmosphere with it? Thanks

@SirAzur3 Yes, I'd suggest modding it on the lattest version, personally I don't if there's any read benefit to using a older firmware but I prefer to just use the update to date version

If im currently at 17... Does this method work to go to 19? This was installed for me prior now im doing jt in my own. Will all the games still be there after updating to 19 or do i have ti reinstall?

Hey man i got a question I had just recently got my switch homebrewed , and everything seems to be good I see the tinfoil installer and when i try opening it gives me “error 2155-8007”. I also havent updated my switch in ages. It’s on version 15.00. Should i update it and that might be the fix? And is it possible to homebrew the newest version? I havent touched my switch in a minute , so i hope you can help bro, thank you

Not Sure to be honest. Not many stay around. I mainly use DBI, join my discord i have Links & also a DBI Installer Tutorial I'm glad my video could help aswell
