Thank you, nice solution! :) I did the same, but I also added recesses with a soldering iron on each side of bumper so that the led bar would stand smoothly and not curved.
@inspiredrc2 жыл бұрын
Thx buddy...good idea 👍 I've also added a couple of capped headed screws on either side to protect the bar from getting damaged. Check out some of my recent bash videos to see how they look if you get 5 mins.

Thx buddy...I installed them a year ago and they are still working fine. I figured it was a no brainer as the body comes off all the time and would damage the rear light. Really happy I did it 👍Check out some of my recent bash vids with it....🙂

Excellent Job man, I got the Maxx this Fathers day, i did put the lights on it. and now I'm thinking of getting the XMaxx with lights, and I don't like the Idea of having the brake lights on the body. If I get it I will do the same thing as you, I also will like to see Nikitas project. well than you for the idea man. have a good one.

Looks good but It literally takes 2 seconds to plug in or unplug the connector plus I don’t have to worry about smashing the light bar mounting it on the body
@inspiredrc2 жыл бұрын
Thx buddy...I decided to put it on the bumper because my body pops off on every other jump and would pull on the wiring loom and prob damage the light kit. This kit isn't cheap. My light kit has lasted well. Its been on there for nearly 2yrs now. I'm personally really happy I did it. 🙂

Doing this right now I have bin looking all week for a good way to install to back light I didn't want it in the body

It works well. I still have it installed on mine. I put a couple of 5mm cap head screws on the rear bumper to acts as stand offs and protect the rear light from scraping when you roll.

Any thoughts on how to wire up traxxas lights if you've swapped out traxxas esc for max6 or other esc?
@inspiredrc3 жыл бұрын
I don't think you can use the traxxas light kit with any other esc. Its the esc that sends the break and reverse signal to the lights. I did have max 6 esc on my first xmaxx and couldn't get lights to work.
@FedoraTech3 жыл бұрын
@@inspiredrc ah ok. I just got my xmaxx and looking at upgrades. How'd you like the max6 and do you recommend swapping the traxxas esc for it? Seems older xmaxxs had a lot of problems with stock esc, but not sure for newer models.
@inspiredrc3 жыл бұрын
@@FedoraTech yeah the older ones did have issues. My current one is 6 months old and has been perfect. I think traxxas have fixed the problem now. If you can. Stick with traxxas esc and get the light kit. It looks awesome 👌

im having problems with alll lights front and back going on and off when I bash any suggestions I did the work but then took it to shop they did crap for me it worked for a day then no lights only when it wanted
@inspiredrc Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy. The wiring traxxas use is very thin and easy to break. Check the wiring on the light side incase it needs more soilder. Ultimately the lights are powered by the esc. If the wiring and connections are good then there could be a issue with your esc. I've personally not come accross this but I did break my rear light once... it still worked but with a few leds out. Luckily I was able to buy the rear light separately. I would suggest you remove the kit and take it back to the shop and get them to test it on another rig. This will tell you if you have an issue with your esc/ esc connection.

My lights come on but they don’t come on when braking or reversing. Have u had this problem
@inspiredrc Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy. No I've not had that issue. It may be an idea to connect the rear lights directly to the main box by eliminating the extension incase there is a break in the wires. Also swap the plugs around in the main output box to test if the rear lights work. I know the traxxas light kit wires are very thin and easy to damage.
@Bawla1873 жыл бұрын
The way Traxxas should have made from day 1. Hey @traxxas wanna work on this for the next light kit? Maybe a new reinforced bumper to support the rear lights..?

So I bought the light kit earlier, installed it, but the brakes or reverse doesn’t work 🤔 I wonder if I broke it putting the light in the bumper? Either way it looks good!
@inspiredrc4 жыл бұрын
@@daymonpancheri9700 the wires are super thin. Check if the wires aren't trapped in the bumper. If not then just check connection to the loom by trying the front lights in the rear connectors. You can buy just the rear lights if they still don't work. Also make sure the the plug on the esc still not loose. Hope you get it sorted.

Just my observation, wouldn't it have been easier to cut those two hole tabs off the light then glue it into place or make a couple small brackets to hold them in place?
@inspiredrc3 жыл бұрын
Honestly it started off as an experiment. If it didn't work I was going to mount it to the body so I didn't want to damage the light. The tabs actually keep it in the bumper. If you watch my recent vid with xmaxx ive put two screws in them lugs to secure to the bumper. It worked a treat. It took some heavy knocks...still working fine....👍🙂
2 жыл бұрын
I ended up doing so. Also, I had to put some piece of foam material behind the light to fill the rear part of it.

Hi. They have been working really well. I did end up replacing the rear as it popped out and got trashed on a really bad rear landing. My fault entirely. It still worked though. I have put a couple of screws into the rear bumper to secure better. Check it out in my xmaxx bearing replacement video. Since the slight mod they have been A1👍👍
