How to install wax foundation

Let me ask you a question if you dont use wired foundation wont it break down when you spin them on the extractor? Or you just use it on the brood box and on the suppers you use wired foundation?

where can i get one of those wax pens? i currently use my hive tool but I REALY like the pen. thanks

628DirtRooster I wished it didn't just stop like that. Let me ask you a question I have tried to ask Ken and never got the answer on. On the foundation when I make it in the future. Does it have to have the cell imprint? The way I see it is that I could use a 18"x4"x1/8" wax sheet. Would this work or am I crazy?

TechMan1219 Flat wax sheet would work but it would slow them way down. When you have an imprinted sheet some of their work is already done for them and the cells are imprinted to a certain size to encourage worker brood building. If it's just a matter of saving money you'd be just as well off to use no foundation. Just use a starter strip and run some guide wires through the frame.
