1 part of solenoid goes to common and the other wire goes to whatever color you use.

The have install hundreds of the hunter xc controllers and they are one of worst controller around, had to replace about 2% under warranty, won't touch them any more

No offense but that was horrible, the name of the video is "how to install" not "how to replace" all you did was show us how to turn a screw. This is an install video so it should be starting from nothing. The video should just be changed to how to replace a time so no one comes on here looking for information on how to actually install a timer.
