How to Install Your CeramicSpeed OSPW System for SRAM Red/Force AXS

Follow this step by step guide to mount your new OSPW System compatible with SRAM Red/Force AXS.

I use a Shimano GRX RD-RX400 rest derailleur on my gravel bike with a custom OSPW 11/13 wheels thinking going 13/13 but it actually makes a noticeable difference and my friends are actually starting to make OSPWs for their mountain bikes. And they love it as it actually effects shifting making it smoother and less likely to get effected by mud and grime on long dirty trails and rides. Everyone is so adamant that it’s only useful on road bikes they are missing a huge opportunity by expanding the line to gravel and mountain set ups. But their loss because of a company doesn’t have an open mind about expanding their lines then I’ll save up and get the equipment to make and sell them myself. I only haven’t because it costs lots of money for the equipment and materials to start and potential competitors but I’m starting to realize their is a whole market waiting to be expanded with no competition at all.

The symptoms indicate an adjustment is needed for when you use the Kickr trainer to account for small alignment differences from your normal wheel.

Min 4:54 I can accomplish that smooth join, There is always a gap how did you manage to avoid the spring sliding on the side?? and to get that smooth?

There are 2 spring tension setting but in the video you clearly state set it back to low. Whats the advantage/disadvantage of the high setting?

Hi Sebestyen, spring tension directly effects chain tension, which is a leading factor in drivetrain efficiency. The higher the chain tension, the more friction occurs in the drivetrain . If you are using an AXS derailleur for cyclo cross, or gravel riding on rough terrain, you may find the higher chain tension (using the high spring tension setting) can help support the clutch for chain retention and stability. If your riding is focused on roads and smoother surfaces, the lower spring tension allows for a more efficient setup.

hey I have the Ceramicspeed cage / puli on SRAM red e tap axs. when I put the bike on the kicker it makes very strange noises. what could that be? most of them in large gear.

When you aligned the CS plate to re-set the clutch, you say to “wind it to the back”, but you didn’t wind anything. Should the D shapes sit flush? Thanks

In the video is clear to see that are 2 levels where the cage could stop (in favor of the spring tension), one higher than the other one,(both are located in the original SRAM) but after installation we can not see where the cage is stopping, could you please let us know where the cage exactly stops ? also I am having troubles to properly close the cage eliminating the gap between the cage and the clutch. How much tension do you apply to keep the spring inside the clutch to eliminate this gap? thank you

Is it compatible with SRAM AXS eTap 52/39 chainring and 10-36T cassette, meaning will the chain length be enough when in 52 in front and 36 in the back?

Why is the 10 ml bottle of Hydraulic oil provided and it does not seem to be used in this instillation

My rotation stop screw is broken so that I cannot install it back to the cage. Do I need to replace a new cage? Note that I use OSPW R6800. Thank you.

Hi there, the installation method is 99% the same for the Eagle mechanical and Eagle AXS systems, with the slight difference noted in the installation video.

I’m running the sram red 2x and the system won’t allow the smallest cog and smallest chainring, do I just continue the same?

With electronic systems you shall just go in the smallest gear allowed in the rear. This combination confirms that the chain will not be too long when in the smallest tooth count combination possible while riding.

I run 50/37 chainset and 10-33 cassette. Do you have to do anything to the length of the chain if installing OSPW?

Hi, thank you for your question. The Rival AXS derailleur has a slightly different cage interface and as such is not compatible or supported with our existing Red/Force AXS OSPW system. We are reviewing options to support Rival AXS in the future with its own system.
