Watched many bow hold videos but never been able to comprehended where my problem is. Now I finally know! The wrist plays an important part which many people neglected too!

You know. This is the 3rd time I've come back to this. After a while I start fighting against my bow arm. This technique here actually resets me and gives me back my confidence in my right hand. After I feel like I'm holding the bow rather than just having it rested on my fingers. Thank you 🤘

I really like your videos and how you get right to the point. It’s frustrating to listen to so much “verbage” on some instructional pages.

EXCELLENT! I caught some of my own failings from this vid! I developed a habit of bucking up my wrist in anticipation of that hard strike. After too many years of playing in that kinda garage band it became habit. Watched your vid once...grabbed my fiddle trying to prove ya wrong and realized 'WAIT A MINUTE'...my natural position now is a bucked up wrist! THANK YOU for the next 30+ hours(at least at this point because it is reflexive) of practice to break that habit!

I use the so-called Russian (more properly, Auer or Hungarian) bow hold. I recently did a survey of some of the chief exponents to examine their right wrist. Milstein, Elman, Rosen, Haendel, and Ricci use a notably flat wrist. Heifetz and Kavakos are basically flat except at the extreme heel. If it's good enough for them...

They say that wrist movement should be smooth and not the elbow. Now if I lower down my wrist, will it impact on the wrist movement. Can you please make a video on the hand movement (esp the wrist) If you already have done a video on it can you please help me with the link for the same.

I have very long fingers. My violin teacher said he’s never seen fingers as long as mine. LOL. I have problems holding my bow because of it. Great for playing piano, not so great for bow holding.
