Alek, you can also create editable properties of the component, like the name-so you can create an instance of it that ripples into different sets without having to alter the original set.

I love this mockup generator but not using a mockup of the actual shirt you are selling is not cool. That is a comfort colors mockup so people selling bella and canvas or another shirt should not be using it. Now all these shops are getting shut down over mockups and this is causing a panic. Have you heard any news??

I found mockups that had the same style (Bella Canvas, etc) I plan on selling on Printify and purchased it in an effort to avoid this so I guess we'll see.

Yeah, I had the same question because you are literally sending them a different shirt than the one you’re advertising…. I guess the trick is to find mockups that are close enough to the actual product on Printify or whatever.

Great advice! This gave me the idea to do a very similar thing with artboards and smart objects in photoshop with print art or graphic art that's not just text...just create the artboards with the mockups in a PSD file, then create a smart object with your design file, then copy that smart object file over each mockup (can even resize the smart object, bend it, add opacity, or whatever to each mockup), and then just update any one of the smart objects by opening it and saving it, and all the mockups will change over all the mockups. This way, you can do custom sizes with certain smart objects and the design file will update correctly.

First let me thank you for your awesome videos. They helped a lot. When it comes to mockups I'm really confused. As you do I'm working with printify and until now I've used their mockups, deleted the white background in Canvas and put in on a nice background. Your way is very much faster, but how can I do it your way and be sure that the size of my design on the mockup as you do it is the same as the size on the shirt printify is sending to the customer. Thanks in advance for your answer (hope I get one) because it's an older video.

This was my first thought as I was watching this video, too. You can see in some short snippets that the mockups he is searching for on Etsy will say like "Bella Canvas 3001" or "Comfort Colors 1717". These are t-shirt designs that are available on Printify, so just make sure to look for mockups using the t-shirt type you used for your Product on Printify. Hope that helps. I am just starting out with my first design as well.

almost none of them do that. perhaps it is because if there is a problem with their youtube account that could have an effect on their shop or vice versa. like lets say you get banned on youtube for whatever reason if they can prove a connection to your shop perhaps that would be taken down as well. but yeah would be interesting to see the shop(s) or the reason why he is not showing it.

I think if she shows a successful shop, people will steal the concept and will ruin it by doing the same thing he is doing. He mentions a challenge where he tried to grow a shop from the ground up on the channel, but when he showed the name of it, a lot of people just stole the idea and buried his product as everyone was doing the exact same thing.

this only works every great while for me. can't figure out what the deal is. I write something down as a text in Figma. then i hit create component. then i copy and paste component 1's writing to the mock ups in my mock ups page. then i group them together. when i go back and change the OG component 1 to a different variation - it doesn't change on the mockups page. WHY? I got it to work yesterday then when i went to my other comp today it wont work again and ive spent an hour trying to get it to work again.

I only watched your photoshop mockup video once and that was as background while i was doing other things so forgive me if i missed something, but how is this faster than the photoshop script? I would imagine having that going for you even while you're doing other stuff is magnitudes faster isnt it?

This one is faster in that once all the mocks are set up, they are updated in real time. With the Photshop method, you first have to create the design then run the script. So if it takes you 15 mins to create the design and 15 mins to run the script, that's 30 mins. With this method, once the board has been set up, it's 15 mins to create the design AND the mocks ergo your time is cut in half.

I found it in his downloads on his site. I did have some trouble getting it into Figma, but I think part of that was that I don't normally use a Mac but I decided to break out one my wife bought for me a few years back and I'm a bit rusty on it's features. Bottom line, I got it to work.
