Next time use a small neodinium magnet to hold the antireversal latch in place, put it on the other side of the gearbox and glue the wires to the case with a drop of superglue.

Very usefull video, it actualy apears that i have gotten a updated version, i asume that couse when i take the stock off, there arent any plates or screws to take off from the inside, and when i unscrew the paddle switch, i pulled out the gearbox, and i noticed that it had a quick change spring system! I was very happy when i noticed it.

Nice video. B the way, have you any idea what strenght the spring is? i didnt catch it in the video. My point is that a lot of JG guns (and ICS) come with really weak springs like M100. I didnt get to the chrono yet, but a spring upgrade is easy for me. I wonder if I should buy a M120 to replace.

Hello! The default factory spring is 110 or 120 and should give you 400 to 420. I found in this above that a 90 spring gave me 340fps as the compression is that good. Pheas

Hello! out of the box, initially probably nothing at all! They shoot lovely. Medium term probably a tight bore barrel and hop rubber to get the groupings a little better at range. Medium to long term, possibly a better motor and a mosfet wired in to give a bit better trigger response and higher rate of fire. but all of these are not really NEEDED, just more of a case of if you want a little more from it. Hello Pheas, I finally decided to try and upgrade the g3 and put in a new barrel, hop up bucking and a motor. I tried to put in a m120 spring but was having so much trouble with keeping it in place along with all the other finnicky pieces in the gearbox that I just put the original spring back in. After reassembling everything, the gun isn't firing at all. Do you have any tips or starting points I can begin looking at to troubleshoot as this is my first upgrade attempt? Appreciate any wisdom!

Hiya, first thing I would do is check the motor wires are connected onto the motor still. Then check the connector at the back of the gearbox , is it connected properly, then look at the battery connector, are the pins far enough forward / does it look ok, then check if the battery is charged too. Hello! If its the aeg one... dont apply it anywhere! If its inside the body of the gearbox, then a little will help the gears and airseal, but it shouldn't need it from new and wont need it for a LONG time, its a once in a while thing to do, not an every game day thing. Out of the box, clean the barrel and you are good! Pheas

Hiya! I can't be absolutely certain, but I am pretty sure not, because its quite a different shape to an M4 type hop unit, including the feed tube from the mag being a different size. If you do try it though, I would like to know how it comes out! Pheas

Hiya! If you are looking for below 350 fps then I had to use a guarder SP90 spring, the airseal is soo good that an sp100 which is what I would use for about 340ish fps was still hot . The 90 was giving me around 330 fps. Pheas

Hello! It is mostly plastic, but its very tough and solid! I have been impressed with how strong it is. Internally it is just an m4 type gearbox, the Trigger is a little different, but the gears, compressions parts are all standard V2 parts so its easy to replace / upgrade if needed. Pheas

Pheas, my JG G3 gives no response anymore when I try to shoot it. My batteries work in my other AEGs and I think the fuse looks fine, leading me to believe that my motor is shot from too much continuous full-auto. Could that be a possibility? If I were to purchase a new motor and install it, could I simply install it through the pistol-grip or would I have to remove the stock & trigger assembly first like you did? Thanks!

Hello..it could be that the motor is broken. You can just remove the base plate on the pistol grip and swap the motor over with no other disassembly needed. What j would say .. is connect the motor terminal wires to a spare motor before buying to check it works / doesn't work. Likewise try the motor wired to another gun. Pheas

Pheas, I took the motor from my JG G3 and installed it into my CYMA M4. It works. The M4 motor yields no response in the G3. If the motor is not the source of my issue, what else do you think could be causing unresponsiveness from my G3? Thank you!

@@brettblackburn2116 if the motor is working still, then either the fuse has popped (but hidden in the bottom of the tube) and if it has.. then there is potentially an issue.. I would remove the fuse from the holder and the 2 brass C clips that hole each end, put one into the other (bypassing the fuse basically), make sure the motor is in and a battery on and pull the trigger just to see if it goes.

Yeah they are still a bit behind the times with some things. I have seen online that they ha e been bought or taken over by golden eagle.. so who knows maybe they want to take cyma's crown which will mean innovation from them. The gearbox was a hassle and j would have killed for a qucj change spring ha ha . Pheas

after of couple hours, im stuck with dissambled mecha box. i have M120 spring but its bit longer than actual one in the gun, so is i think almost imposible put it in. next day ill try to samble it and i hope it would work like before. performance of this gun is pretty bad on its price range, one of the main issues is that, the BBS fly to the left after longer distance. I didn't tryied 0.20bbs but on 0.25 happening this to me. otherwise thanks for showcase

The springs are often longer, which is fine, just needs compressing into the gearbox. If the bbs are going to the left (and there is no wind) the same will happen with any weight of bb, but means that your hop rubber is not seated correctly and should be central in the barrel. take the barrel and hop out and turn the hop fully into the barrel, you will probably be able to see it is not centered correctly. Hiya, there is a rod that the spring goes on, it could be spring its not on that rod properly or you could have put the wires in a place where it couldnt lock back, if you check out my recent MC51 disassembly, it had a similar issue which I fixed. Pheas

@@SketoThanos hello,. Undo the screw and pull the selector lever out of the body. Any screw you can see on the selector... Tighten it down, if you have thread lock.. . Add a drop, put back into the body and screw im again..should be miles better. Pheas

@@SketoThanos if you have or have used thread lock, you only need a tiny amount on any of the threads to secure them. So if you do get some, the screws are tiny, only use a tiny little drop, otherwise it will get everywhere and bind everything up. Pheas

hello, my g3 selector switch has become considerably loose. it was fine the day before and it seems to have happened over night. Is there any reason for why this is happening? My guess is that the tiny little screw is lose or is damaged. i havent been rough with it. Ive only used it for shooting at home. As i said it was fine the previous day and it seemed to happing today. I do think its the screw and that's its loose but id like to see what you have to say. Thank you. I would also like to add that i have tried tightening the scree but it doesnt seems to move. I didnt want to damage the screw so i stopped trying to turn it. I think it is something internally. I would also like to what screw driver you used to get that screw out.

Hello It could be the screw on the inside of the selector level itself that is coming loose. I have fixed one recently with similar symptoms to yours. I remove the selector, and on the inside of the lever itself there is 2 little philips screws, remove those and you will see a screw in the end of the rod. Tighten that down, it should solve your issuse, we also threadlocked that little screw too. The other thing it could be, could be the little selector cam COULD be wearing out and allowing alot of wiggle room for the selector bar. Hope that helps Pheas

@@Pigeon_z just the cam will need to be replaced, but they come as a whole anyways.. if you can find them in stock. Its not likely to be the cam going, its rare, more liklely the screw is coming loose. Fingers crossed for you
