I’d give this ten thumbs up if I could. I had tears at the “it’s not your fault” part. Such sincerity. Thank you.

Best practices to incorporate for pain free maintenance=> I’m on my journey to pain free, and these top 3 practices made so much sense, even while still on my journey. Thank you!

Excellent, thank you. As someone who has been dealing with what I call TMS for over 50 years, on and off, and practicing holistic psychotherapy for almost half a century, what I find most interesting in the current pain reprocessing material is the acknowledgment of how ubiquitous it is for people to continue to have symptoms on and off, even with the best treatment. If you have a trauma history, and if you are a highly sensitive person and/or an empath, your body is likely to talk to you more than someone else’s. As Christie said, she still has plenty of times when her body speaks to her. I think the biggest problem in our field (and I also took Alan Gordon’s professional training course) is setting up unrealistic expectations for people. Once you know that you’re likely to have physiologic manifestations of emotional states and stress, you can more easily depathologize them. Hyper-vigilance and catastrophizing contribute to symptoms. Creating safety is crucial, as is setting good boundaries, learning that “No” is a complete sentence, being in touch with and processing emotions, and continuing to remind yourself that there’s nothing physically wrong with you.

I'm a mess and barely know where to start. I suppose I have w/ tapping, but w/ limited if any success. Biggest problem right now is depression and near constant anxiety. Behind that is fibromyalgia and fatigue, but that always really lessons w/ depression. Doctors always found that odd, but I guess that's the TMS. I know I'm in a chronic state of fight or flight and I have a good idea why. So I'm trying to journal it out, tap it out. Motivation is difficult, w/ a head full of bees and pushing constantly to keep going. I just barely take care of myself, house and cats, but I am. What she said near the end brought me to tears, about how it's extremely hard to be both your own teacher and student at the same time. I think it was the validation of that feeling. I can't afford the pricey retraining courses, or counseling. I try to tell myself if others can see themselves out of this, before the internet, I should be able to as well, w/ all the resources now. There's fear of course underneath that.

Ok, could I then say “ threat is the input, vestibular migraine (instead of pain) is the output? I struggle to see vestibular problems the same as I do pain in these statements.
@ThoughtByThoughtHealing

Yes. That sounds right. If I was working with you we would work to understand what that threat is.

I really need to understand how to translate this to PPPD and especially vestibular migraine. Like pain’s job is to protect us…but how does dizziness or vestibular migraine protect me? How do I translate that. I listened to The Way Out and it was great but I don’t know how to translate it to these things. Any thoughts? Resources?

Dizziness can “falsely” protect you in the same that pain does. Be curious. What does dizziness cause you to have to say no to or get you out of? Mind you, this needs to be done with utmost grace and gentleness. There is probably hurt or shame in these areas.

Is this the same for a myriad of other symptoms, not just pain? I don't have chronic pain (thank God), but other symptoms like food sensitives and hair that isn't so strong at the root (but getting better). Does this apply to those things too?
@ThoughtByThoughtHealing

Yes absolutely. Use the pain test on my website to help you determine if your symptoms are TMS

@@ThoughtByThoughtHealing Thank you! I took a look over the test. I do know what triggered much of this (heavy metals and toxins), but I have seen improvement during times of less stress, and worsening during stress. So deep down I know it's more emotional and mental than physical. I mean, isn't that true with everything? lol This knowledge brings me so much hope! I WILL heal in Jesus' Name!

Question, it is possible right to have TMS and also structural. Pain? cause i've been told that I have a bad hip That needs to be replaced...but that I have other pain symptoms that are unexplainable?

While I am listening for myself...I happen to have a son who has an actual abnormality in vertebra causing congenital scoliosis...it has never hurt him and by all accounts won't hurt...but I can see if he started to have pain a Dr. would jump to the conclusion that the scoliosis was the cause. My body does talk to me...eating a meat based diet turns down that noise..but I realize half of the issue is my mind.
