Thank you for the wonderful interview with Dan. I came across his KZbin channel back in October and was able to recover from one of my major chronic symptoms within 3 weeks. Two months later, I was also able to overcome my second major symptom, solely by working through his methods and listening to his daily videos. Your work is highly appreciated and changing lives, so thank you both for doing what you do and guiding us in our healing journey.

Wow, what Dan said, This is how I felt too, I was journaling and I felt more depressed! I think journaling is good if you’re Just writing about ur current feeling and to just let it out. But to constantly write about all the sadness and frustration it was becoming more depress and anxious at time. Thanks Dan and Jen!

Re: journaling...sounds like Dan's process and Jen's process were different. Jen, in part, needed to identify her unconscious emotions/actions/psychological states to address them...Dan was just rehashing bad times with yucky emotional parts that were already known to him. I love the distinction he makes regarding present time emotional trauma vs old stuff you can drag up to help you heal. He says emotional safety right now is the important thing regardless of where you came from or how long you have been repressing or unconsciously expressing your fears, pains etc. Both avenues to healing are appropriate but not necessarily appropriate in every situation. I've done journaling both ways with corresponding results. Sometimes journaling is my friend and sometimes its just not. Feeling so lucky to hear these two inspiring peeps talking about TMS. So grateful to them for breaking trail.

Somewhere around 50 minutes in the idea of TMS not being the fault of the person who suffers from it was raised. I think we need to do a lot more studying of individual cases before we can make a blanket assessment like that. To me, that thought has to do more with a psychological/philosophical mindset than it has to do with scientific investigation. In my case, having dealt with over 30 symptoms--some stretching back 40 years--I can say with a lot of certainty that my decisions had a huge role in creating TMS symptoms. I think each case needs to be individually assessed and not be afraid to talk about personal responsibility, that is, personal responsibility at any point in the whole process. 'Fault' is probably not the best word to use in this case.

Yes, I agree. It's sticky because most people with TMS are dealing with the fear response of being sinned against, but there are times that we are dealing with our own emotions that are a byproduct of our decisions that truly need God's ever-real, forever grace so that we can move forward made clean and loved through the cross and His love.
