You have no idea how much a love you right now. I have been looking for this since I started to play Lana del Rey mainly and other artists. They always have those F#m/A, and I was like.. wtf ??? And you are right : I only know when to play the chords, but I need to learn how to " embellish " the song with the way I play...(you have a video on that I know haha ). Because playing when it is written makes the song a bit dull sometimes Thanks again :) your channel is a bless (don't know if that's English, but you'll get what I meant) Oh and ... Wow, I wish my college piano professor had explained chords this way. You described them in a way that makes them easier to remember. I was hoping there was a trick to knowing what to do with piano tabs/guides when they don’t have a split bc I don’t know what to do with my left hand other than playing the root note or octave, or which inversion to use, but it sounds like you kind of have to have an ear for that 😅 Thank you SO much!! Truly grateful you share your teaching skills with us 🤗

Writing "mj" for major chords is not very common or a standard practice. It's usually written with a capital M or "Maj". So instead of "C mj" it will be "C Maj" for C major.
