Well detailed instructions. Anybody changed the long lower mounts so a new lower version is much higher on the frame - partially hidden and a cleaner look rather than the big ones that are mounted way down below the tanks and 'hanging in the breeze'?

Love the tank, currently have a 83 ironhead but for the bottom mounting points of the tank won’t work for me unless weld some brackets to make it work. Looks great

yeah these are made for big twin pan and shovelhead frames. you can run it on a sporty but yes fabrication will be needed.

Should you seal the inside of the tanks ? Or are they already done

If I were building this bike I'd drill and tap that hole too- some pan head bolts would look way cleaner than a nut & bolt set up.

Mounds are made for late panhead and all shovelhead frames. It will not bolt on to an Evo Soft tail. If you have some fabrications skills you can figure out a new way to mount it but it wont just mount out the box on that frame.

Silly question, but i wanna fit these to my 2000 Dyna, i can fab, cut and weld pretty well but is it gonna be a pointless task as they would never fit right over the dyna back bone correctly?

Be awesome if you guys made a split tanks with one side gas no cross over and then the other side oil so you don't need a oil tank that ever other guy has

you can plug off one sides cross tube, cut off and weld it closed. Then the side you want the oil tank you would have to make return line, and vent to make it work, with some ingenuity, fab work you could use these to make it happen.

You wouldn't be able to find split tanks for a Sportster by themselves, ready to just bolt on like that and look like this. You would have to do some major fab work to make a set like these fit or make a custom one off set of split tanks. The mounting points are completley different, defiantly a custom job. sorry we couldn't be more help.

@riffraffchoppers and then there's fabrication involved because you need something to bolt those 2 simple tabs too .They're selling these as bolt on . If you're doing 2 simple tabs, you might as well fab those while you're at it. Tabs wouldn't look as clean either..
