You just won a lawsuit or are potentially thinking about slipping in a Walmart to win millions of dollars. What do you do with all the money you win?
What about Taxes?
Simple explanation: This lets you know how much money is really yours. Next thing you know you go out and spend a million thinking you have a million then you get a tax bill for 300k.
- Depends on the suit if its Personal injury or property damage theirs no suit. Example, my friend his a cook.
Who do you need?
_ Now I know everyone in your family even 12th cousins will all of sudden want to talk about the old days that never happened.
- But you really need two people now, that’s a financial Advisor and Tax Professional, with these two people on your team you’ll be better off than with you moms idea to start a grocery store that just sell grocery bags.
Annuity Vs One-time payment
An annuity is getting you money in payments over a period of time
One time is just getting it all at ones.
Now there are some tax implications, but I also understand that some people need the money asap to handle their business.
Story: talk about your friend and how he got a lawsuit recently, and now he can't figure out what to do. And seem to be talking advice from the wrong people.
How to invest lawsuit money or Settlement Money
1. Decide what you want. Do you want to keep working or do you want never to work again.
- Rule 1: You cant retire from a sum of money, but you can retire from the sum of money that money makes you.
- Rule 2: If you want to keep working then keep the same lifestyle, don’t change a thing and have that money keep growing either with a highyield savings or investment account.
2. Hire Professional help that wants what you want.
- Rule 1: Once you have money, everyone will all of a sudden be an investor. Only invest with people that are proficient in what they say and in what you want. Example, my uncle wants to start nail salon, and he never has painted or seen a nail painted ever, don't invest in that business.
- Rule 2: Never go with the first Choice. When highering a financial advisor or accounting always shop around and compare prices and then ask why they are so high.
3. Time to invest
- Rile 1: No need to take unnecessary risk
- Rule 2: Diversify (Omg bitcoin in losing money I'm going to jump in now, and make millions. Don’t speculate invest into sure things with a long track record
- Rule 3: Spend the interest not the capital
4. Solve Problems ( Only ones you solve your own problems first)
- Rule 1: if you have debt, have the interest pay for it, don’t use your physical money to erase it
- Rule 2: Create an Emergency fund, at least 6 months of expenses
- Rule 3: Invest in education, you probably never had this type of money, and you want to make sure it doesn’t go… so learn more about money management.
5. Enjoy Yourself
- Rule uses the interest from investments to enjoy yourself and only around 5%
- Rule 2 Help family
- Rule 3 Stay below your means always
Tips; Benefitury, will and so on. Don’t forget does
Bonus: What would it do?
1. Hire an accounting and financial advisor after a lot testing
2. I would still keep working and probably not touch the money for personal use
3. I would Diversify the cash into Stocks, Bonds, Real estate, cash, commercial real estate, and also continue to grow my business. ( but I would only invest in what I know after running the number and make sure it's profitable.)
4. Id uses the interest to pay off debt, help family members but only through educations, I don’t like handouts.
5. I would take a 2-week vacation to Africa and do some angel investing in startups, with the interest money

I’d take your advice but I’d still live like I was middle/low class. I’d have a cheap house, regular car and make the money grow larger so later on I could afford to have fun and live it up. People don’t want to wait for that but it’s the smartest option.

Correction, you need an accountant who understands settlement allocations. and a lawyer to help set up special entities to move the money correctly. That accountant and lawyer MUST specialize in this situation. Ask your accountant and lawyer about referrals on people they have helped similar to your situation.

Watching the vid cause I just landed a 45k settlement for wrongful arrest (27k in pocket). I had a buddy get a 18k settlement years back and he and his girl quit their jobs and blew the ENTIRE SETTLEMENT in less then 30 days. Within a month of his settlement he was pawning music equipment he bought. Sad to see that happen, that’s why I’m being diligent with my settlement

I had huge metal compressor fall on my foot 2 years ago on my second day at work at a new job, this broke my foot for 8 months, i couldnt work and took out comp durring that time- i sued the place I worked for bc they fire me over it- 2 years later I got a settlement for 15k if i close it out completely, it would have been 20k but i completely recovered and took a lot out durring comp- Now that im getting it in all a lump sum- the only thing that im going to buy is a new apartment for around 3000- one month down one month advance and one month security. i work now and make around 2000 a month so i feel like i cann afford it. I was thoinking of putting 4000 in etfs and stocks, 2000 in crypto bitcoin, bitcoin cash. I was thinking of putting the rest in an high interest savings accounts and pay off a over due credit card of 1000 dollars

Well you’ll probably be on disability now, and depending on the amount of money you’ll receive here is what I would do. I would take some of the money maybe 1k and learn a new skill I can do from home, creating a business, sellling on eBay, reselling items, whatever it is to keep you busy and active. With the money if you got a lot of it, I would invest it into an index fund portfolio with some bonds also. And collect the disability check, side income, and dividend income from investments. This should help with investing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3Oclpmsrpx0aq8

I just received my work comp settlement, making plans on how to invest, invest in my company such as website, my truck just important parts, tools as needed for my company. Wll not do take a vacation, buy new or newer truck, I get complements from all that see my truck with mirror deep shine. I plan to invest in my company advertising get the truck wrapped to be rolling billboard, then better website. use the money from projects to live on. To meet with financial advisor should I buy the regular size or party size of chips? Growing up dirt poor, in college learned how to spend money, use envelopes one for rent, phone food gas etc, another for emergency. Being self employed learned not always cash coming in divide any money by 3 1/3 for bills, 1'3 for expenses food gas etc. rest to save and not touch or repay back what was borrowed.

I needed a winter job being self employed finish carpenter, my season is March thru November typically.. I find a flexible job, last resort was Walmart. They hired me on the spot. I liked working in lawn and garden, management rarely visited too far away from the office, Add great supervisor she saw what I would do, left me alone. Some lasted one day, one went to lunch clocked out never came back. It is a horrible place to work , it's manage by hate, they get you mad so you will work harder and faster. @mochalattemiss
@mochalattemiss 10 ай бұрын
What is really sad is that you have good information, but your presentation is really quite terrible. You talk WAY too fast, and stumble over your words so badly that it seems like you have a speech impediment (it’s called “cluttering”, and it is akin to stuttering.). If you do, you should get some speech therapy or coaching before making more videos. To the listener, your speech is unintelligible and I found myself going back and listening a second time to find out what you said. Not trying to be rude or savage, but you really should consider this. This “cluttering” isn’t good, and if I can’t understand you the first time, I’m less likely to listen and absolutely less likely to believe what you say (credibility). If you went to college and are a CPA, as you’ve said, you have to know that the field of Communications is real and all this chewing up of your words and mispronunciations are bad for your image as a professional. Good luck, but your affect is just too much.

@@TommyBryson Well, first let me say that I am glad you recognize this, and that you are better now. Communicating your expertise is like distributing your gold. Thus, if you had gold and diamond rings to give to people, you wouldn’t choose a greasy paper bag to wrap your valuables in and give it to people to whom you wanted to bestow your gift. No…you would choose better ways of distributing valuables so that people would recognize their worth, and value what you’ve given them. The box would be well made, velvet or suede, with satin or silk or another equally valuable material to highlight the beauty and the precious nature of this object. Your expertise is the same. Is it trash, or is it valuable and worth showing in an appropriate format? If it is the latter, my respectful suggestion is to take this down and redo it. It is valuable info, and I would like to hear it, truly I would. But you need to help me to hear YOU. Help ME to understand you and the intrinsic value of what you are saying. I promise that if you do this-practicing what you want to say and pacing yourself, having a conversation with me (and all of us as viewers, it will be worth your while. I wish you the very best, young man. Remember-practice often, and fail to plan, plan to fail. Always come correct. Speak to us like the expert that you want us to see and believe that you are.
