Thank you so much! I went to charge my phone at home (during lunch) and about thirty minutes later my screen looked distorted and I thought I was going to have to go an apple store to get my phone fixed. I quickly turned on my laptop and found your video and learned how to reboot with pressing the volume down and power button and it really saved my life (a lot of time would have been wasted if I had gone to the apple store coupled with my frustration of a 7 month old phone having display issues). Thank you - this is the only thing that worked! I had to update iTunes per your comment and restart my pc and then open iTunes for it to work. I also held the buttons down in the order you said for that long because other sites said just the power and lower volume and not holding one or the other alone too. So relieved!

If anyone is having problems entering DFU mode, make sure you are NOT using a USB-C to lightning cable. You CANNOT enter DFU mode unless you are using a USB-A (aka "normal" USB or the style that came with the phone) to lightning cable.

What I really don’t like about all of this power resetting stuff for the iPhones is , first off I do enjoy people trying to help but I think there needs to be more detail because I’m a technician , so I think pretty detailed but when we’re doing this let us know if we’re going to lose data or lose our saved items that’s all I want to know , I don’t do the stuff because people aren’t telling us what’s happening whenever we’re doing this stuff to our phones ,I need to know that before I try any of this because people are wiping their phones trying to put it back to factory and that still don’t fix it anyway from what I see on the Internet , so why lose everything if it’s not going to fix it ! it’s just a desperate measure when you don’t know what’s wrong with your phone, from studying what people say all of this power resetting don’t fix any of the problems anyway , I’ve even tried a lot of times to reset, this 7+ is glitchy and none of these fancy Internet stuff fixes it
