You’d love quickjacks. They’d lift it just as high, faster, and they have locks so it can act like a jackstands. I got a pair for my C4 as well!

Try the Gortech multi stage heavy duty scissor jack. Should work with this corvette. Its a company based out of South Africa and available in the USA.

Thats insane, I have 4 of those exact silver and black sears craftsman jackstands. Bought em in the 90s, cut two of em short just for working on the vette.

I think making those 2x4 jack stands more modular would make this easy and the height would be adjustable. if they are out of 2 or 3 pieces, that interlock, I think it would still be safe or safer and easier

I broke my air dam off so many times i rebuilt it and the lower radiator shroud out of stainless steel plate, 1/8". The lower part was a continuous hinge and another plate sandwiched over thick rubber that went to the ground. Thick torsion springs mounted to the hinge shaft which was about 1/4". All stainless hardware. The result was an air deflector that would fold flat if you hit a driveway. Forward or reverse, then instantly pop back perpendicular to the ground. It was probably overkill but I was sick of replacing that plastic stuff over and over. Owned my 86 for 27 years, bought it in 87. At one point had about a $40k stereo system in it and competed in IASCA sound quality competition with HLCD drivers on top of the dash, lots of plexi and aluminum, scored very well and won the SoCal regional championship in 1998. Took me about a week to hollow out the passenger side dash behind the bump, put a steel deck and reinforcement and hinge that side to put an 18 disc Clarion CD changer in there but it got rid of ALL those nasty squeeks and rattles you hear in the dash. Theres a lot of room in there just a few components in there to move and the wiring harness pushes back easily. I put dynamat in every square inch of the body and doors, lots of modelling clay underneath, and both passenger tubs lined with a full uncut sheet of foil backed super dynamat. Car was quiet and solid as a cadillac. If you just want a stealthy stereo upgrade, the storage tub behind the passenger seat(or either without abs) has the perfect volume for a 12" sub. Cut the hatch panel in half, make a 3/4" ply or mdf soundboard and mount with a couple of brackets. I had amps mounted in the upper fenders where the bose stuff used to reside.

Nice exhaust system. Has anybody done a nice C4 LT1 exhaust system in light weight tubing? Any recommendations? Headers?
