can we get a breakdown of what makes devin booker so lethal?
@77ivankuahjunming24 жыл бұрын
I noticed a thing that's quite interesting. In almost every stepback he does, he jabs to the opposite direction of he's stepping back to, whether it's during live dribble or triple threat position. This gives him extra space that he needs to get the shot off. Agreed?
@zacks65964 жыл бұрын

I've been practicing this move prior to the lockdown. It is harder than it looks because of staying balanced to get the shot. I'm getting there I believe. P.s. Background music of your videos is ALWAYS dope.
@sosmooth134 жыл бұрын
putragis08 it’s a mean move. When I sail Chris Paul do it, I copied it and was surprised at how effective it was at getting you that little bit of lateral space so that your defender has to guard at an angle. Not a good spot to be at on defense.

If you keep both feet on the ground as you do your last dribble before doing your sidestep, it also makes it much more unpredictable for your opponent, b/c you can lift either foot and then sidestep, giving you a 2-way guessing game (3 if you include the drive); harden was great at this.
@MrJibs12313 жыл бұрын
Something I noticed while watching this to add it to my bag, that when against players with similar builds (mainly wings) he almost always pushed with the foot closest to the front foot. I assume that it's because the best way to sell the move is by making the defender instinctively believe that you are going to attack the front foot to generate more separation by slowing their reaction time.

I'm a pretty good shooter, but I tore my meniscus a few years ago (Not bad, but suboptimal "I'm 18 and can do what I want" footwork- too bad I was 20 and gained a few pounds), so when I started rebuilding my footwork to better suit my jumper I was watch a celtics and saw Jayson pull this out of his bag and I was like... I like that, and I can do that. It took like 3 months before I could reliable get this shot of going to my right as a righty in a game. In practice yeah, could drain 10-12 in a row either direction, even as a righty i prefer to go to my right, but in a game I shot like Spice Adams or James Harden in the playoffs. It was 100% worth learning though.

@vinuzo95484 жыл бұрын
Don't shoot the same from three as you do midrange, it'll screw up your power. Watch videos of MJ shooting threes (late career when he became a better shooter) then midrange. His setpoint is completely different and way more one motion. It'll just take thousands of reps to get used to the power transfer, I did the same as you a year ago and now I'm comfortable from deep and contested midrange shots, fade ways off the left shoulder are still pretty tough for me though.
@nelsonandres91634 жыл бұрын
