This has to be the easiest and most detailed fender chop video I’ve found thus far! Thanks Ali, I’ll be doing this to my 392 shortly! 🤙🏼

Looks better and more aggressive than before. Definitely a more affordable alternative than replacing the whole suspension especially since you really like the way it performs already.

@@DrivingLine Do the fevers flop signs at all? I know some places sell pieces to add rigidity. Did you do anything like that? Last question - did you ever install the inner portion of the fender?
@DrivingLine2 жыл бұрын
I ended up gluing the front fenders down to the light bracket. The tape did not work very well. Haven’t had an issue with them since then. I don’t have inner fenders for the rear, but I did end up buying some Artec front inner fenders.

Thanks for the video. I’ve been looking at fender options and I like this one a lot. Have you found a good wheel well you could install with this setup? Also I saw on the website that the running daytime lights is out of stock. Do you know if I were to buy the non-running daylight option I would be in violation of a vehicle equipment law?
@DrivingLine5 ай бұрын
If these are out of stock, I would look at the ones from American Adventure Lab. I ended up with Artec inner fenders. They are OK. I would definitely recommend going with some type of visible turn signal.

Great video! I did my inner fender deletes today. Love the Rugged Ridge Lights. They should be here Sat. Do you have a more detailed video concerning their install? And BTW, starting at the bottom to remove the inner is the BEST way! Much easier than starting at the front! LOL
@DrivingLine2 жыл бұрын
I don't have anything else on the light install. There's really not much to them. Once you get yours in, you will see what I mean. Very straight forward.

@@DrivingLine Thanks for the reply. Mine should be here Sat. I can't imagine hitting the highway without that bracket. My painted plastic fenders are so flimsy after stripping them.

So there is no way to use the factory fender liner after the chop?
@DrivingLine10 ай бұрын
I believe it’s possible to reuse a portion of it. Obviously, you would have to trim it up a good bit. I think the main issue would be the lack of attachment points compared to how it was from the factory.

Would the lift still be “necessary” if you had split the fenders ? Looks awesome, and is 9n my list of modifications, I will definitely be doing inner fenders wells in the front.
@Ali_Mansour_Editor3 жыл бұрын
I believe it's possible that you could do just this mod and run a 37, but I haven't tested it. So, I can't say if there would be any potential rubbing issues. I ended up ordering a set of Artec inner fenders for the front. I just haven't had a chance to install them yet.

Sorry to dig up an old video but is there anything that covers the section that gets exposed behind the rear fender? It seems weird that Jeep markets this split option but doesn’t accommodate covering the mounting holes.

No, but there are a lot of options from the aftermarket that will work.

do the rugged ridge brackets for the rubicon work with non rubicon paint matched flairs?

I don’t think so. The light bracket is designed for the higher flare position of the Rubicon.

Hello, noob here 👋🏻 are the factory fender liners no longer useable after this mod or did you just not like the look?
@DrivingLine Жыл бұрын
You may be able to trim them up and mount them using the few attachment points that are on the body. But, I'm not sure how flimsy they would be. There's much better aftermarket solutions that are designed for this upgrade.

So the stock inner fender liners won’t fit back once you do this? Or did I miss something?

Those have a little over 11,000 miles on them. I've been able to pull 45,000 miles out of Trail Grapplers in the past under much heavier vehicles. So, I'm hoping these will go the distance as well.

If it has a two-piece flare design, then yes. I know Max Tow gets wider flares due to the wider axles, but I can’t recall if they get the same one-piece style flare as the regular Sport. The seem is very defined on the two-piece flare.

@EddiTaru2 жыл бұрын
Why do people do this? The OEM Jeep fenders are just perfect. Makiing them thinner and flimzier just isn't a good idea. It gives you like half an inch of clearance, but estetically it doesn't look as great anymore. Otherwise a good educational video.
@DrivingLine2 жыл бұрын
It's the easiest and cheapest way to make room for larger tires without limiting up travel or having to install a taller suspension lift. I would much rather have the Jeep low and stable for my needs.
