Great tip! I’ve had some difficulty with blending the seams
@earthtrekker14 жыл бұрын
I've used that paper, total shyte from china, best to double paste both wall and paper, or just do what I do now, turn down those jobs, not worth the hassle and high blood pressure from trying to get it right, you did well to get them seams perfect, good job

@mikcall542 жыл бұрын
I love paste the wall style because it's alot less messy especially if you do not have the space to layout the paper to roll the glue on the paper first, but this is a good tip.

What if you wet the backing of the paper and then hang the paper? In the UK we generally use that method with wide-width vinyl
@spencercolgan5 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for this response; please tell me how this technique works out… Let me challenge you… If you put glue on the back of the wallpaper, isn’t that the same thing as wetting it? Doesn’t the wetness in the glue serve the same purpose? Or do you wet the back of the wall covering with water, wait a little time and then apply the glue to the back of the wallcovering?
@jordan58695 жыл бұрын
Spencer Colgan Wallpaper & Painting with this method when you wet the backing of the paper with water you’re allowing the paper to expand before you put it on the wall and it allows you to roll up the sheet once it’s booked, then roll it down the wall making it easier to butt up the sheets and because it’s been soaked with water it doesn’t absorb as much of the paste on the wall giving you more slip with the paper, however this only works with paper backed wall coverings but this is how I’ve hung wide width vinyl previously so it might be worth a try with standard vinyl papers
@spencercolgan5 жыл бұрын
PIQUE you said. “ it allows you to roll up the sheet once it’s booked...” After you wet it, with your method, what do you do? Do you glue it immediately thereafter? Or, do you roll it up wet. Let it soak... and e land, then glue it. ? Please explain
@Gomethog4 жыл бұрын
What kind of glue do you use for this application? I just hung wallpaper for the first time and had this problem but I could not get the paper to slide hardly at all. I used Roman’s paste from big box store.
@spencercolgan4 жыл бұрын
You definitely used the wrong glue sir! The box stores only sell border adhesive. You needed heavy duty clear strippable glue! Dynamite 234.
@schillakonsultwallpaper Жыл бұрын
I will advise you soak the wallpaper and let it expand first. Waiting time of 10mins for the wallpaper to soak and dry before you start installing.

Top tip, Spencer. I have been called back to a vinyl wall that apparently the seams have opened up.. not sure what I'm going to be able to do. Did you ever come across that? I don't want to be splicing in full drops and am hoping it can be heated and stretched maybe, or I paint the seams.. Ugh!
@spencercolgan3 жыл бұрын
Yes. If vinyl, be very careful and heated up from the scene and 4 inches away but not to make it shiny; not too much heat and then was a very thin smoother, push towards the seam.

Thanks Mr - Fingers crossed! Will let you know how it goes. Appreciate your response - and all you do.

The only advantage to paste the wall papers is that there's no soaking times. I still use a pasting table.

I have a defect In my cerebellum. Consequently, my voice and short term memory are affected whereby I repeat myself often. Because I have a defect in the anterior part of the cerebellum, I unnecessarily repeat myself saying sometimes the same thing In perhaps different ways. I’m so sorry. My brain is slightly abnormal...the cerebelllum where short term memory is controlled, sometimes lends itself to my repeating myself over and over. But that hasn’t been happening lately. I apologize.
