100% agree when it comes to really wanting to joining the army. I got deferred due to medical about a year and half ago and I now have my medical cleared. If you really want to join the army, stick with it, it can be difficult to stay determined to join, but it is a great feeling when you're told that you can progress through the selection process. If you've applied and got deferred, stick with it.

@Rangermedia4 жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with the Paras mate, but like I said it’s down to you what you want. I think the basic training medical is just checking your still good from assessment and that you are fit enough to start the training process. Life will be busy in basic training, so for injury prevention I can’t recommend stretching enough, even if it’s 10-15 mins in your bed space. Flexibility helps so much.

@Rangermedia4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate appreciated, No I’m not sure on the eye sight requirements, I’m also on the move at the moment so not in a position to speak to any medical team . Your best best is to get in touch with the official process on the Army website they will be best equipped to give the correct answer. My opinion is you would be fine, some roles will require eye sight to be perfect like a helicopter pilot in the army air corps or a sniper in the Infantry. All depends on role, I have seen some mega people serving with poor eye sight.

Hey man I just wanted to ask your advice about getting into sandhurst while enlisted, I want to be infantry and don't mind the pay right now but I'm sure when I'm older and start thinking about having a family, officer pay could be useful (as bad as it sounds money sadly is important in the decision) basically just want to ask if its possible to commission from being infantry? I wont have a degree but I did decent in high school( South african school though). Is it a realistic goal to be commissioned after a good amount of years in infy?
@Josh-qx8sq4 жыл бұрын
Why not join as an officer first? Im south african doing my iGCSE so i can join in
@Rangermedia4 жыл бұрын
Reece Mandingo If you go about it that way, I’m prety sure you’ve to be in Sandhurst before your 30 birthday. It is possible to go to Sandhurst after serving some time as a soldier. You just can’t return back to the same unit you were in as a soldier. So yeah in short if you dedicated yourself to it, there’s no way you shouldn’t make it. If that route doesn’t work out, continue to drive forward and climb the rank structure of a soldier, just as challenging and pay is fine. Sargent think earliest 10-12 years at £34000 odd a year.
