hey thank you for all your videos, they're really informative and fun to watch. Just wondering if you ould possibly post a video on how to choose the best infantry regiment? I also wanted to ask what the general thought is on females joining the infantry and how the majority of guys feel about it? Thank you so much

Thanks appreciated glad you enjoy them. Yeah I can look at getting a video like that made, generally location plays a key factor for most people, then role. Honestly dont think anyone cares, personally I think more should be applying to come into the Infanty. I Know one female passed out in Guards division. More joining up in Catterick and Sandhurst is a good thing! I know females have transfered into the infantry from across the wider Army but it would be great to see more starting the process from the start.

I agree with you there Luke, lads and girls do focus on the shit times. Staffing on the gate on Christmas day. Cleaning hard last minute dot com. That's life in the army sometimes they should have the mental redustness to get over and crack on. Where in civvie life can you do live fire excecises on an SF gun line. Getting paid and going out on the lash in the states on R and R after 3 months amongst it in the jungle of Belize. Brilliant times I miss the forces big time me. Got injured and that was me done had no choice. I am in the cadet world now which fills a little bit of the gap. I watch videos like you and a couple of other lads to get info to feed back to cadets if they show an interest in the army. Well an interest in the parachute regiment my ex regiment haha. I cut about like I am still a reg head without my DZ and Pegasus of course.

Yeah but I think it’s the case in most parts of life, negative people will just focus on the negative times and not realise all the good stuff they’ve actually took part in. Happy days I’m glad to be providing some help with this channel. Yes, well you got to stay loyal to your own. I’d love everyone to sign up as a Ranger but I want this to be more aimed at everyone. Paras gleaming Regiment worked with them a lot over the years. We only left 16 Air assualt a wile back and it was a brilliant time in there. I had my first Op tour in Sagin attached to 2 para in 2008.

@@Rangermedia skills, I was 5 airborne brigade. Which to me was always the true airborne brigade. 16AA is sound don't get me wrong. I am ex 2 para or gleaming 2 as we say taking the piss. 1 para are weird 1 and 3 para are gungy 3. I think these days in the army especially after Herrick battle groups etc regiments work alot closer together then we did really which wasn't a good thing in my day. To be honest we had terrible attitudes towards civvies other regiments then ourselves. The shot was shocking in the 80s for scrapping etc. Thank god the army has calmed down.

The Rifles are tye reg I'm hoping to get in. I apply in October. And I'm going for infantry sniper then maybe transfer to para or marine commando

You can't just transfer like the click of a finger. Depends on manpower e.t.c and you will need to complete at least 2 years with the rifles. You can just go straight to paras tho. But you will need to apply for the navy to be a commando.

@@luke-THC I know it isn't straight away. But if its possible that's what imma do basically. I'm planning to stay in rifles for at least 3 years to become a Sniper. Then I'd ask my CO about transferring to paras

@@everythingiskaos14 you would need to pass it up the chain off command and then ask your Oc ... not Co if you could transfer to the paras

Pav Singh If you check out a series call “Para’s men of war” I think it was channel 4 that created it. Should be available online or on catchup. That will give you a really up to date and modern view of training at the Infantry Training Centre catterick for the Paras etc.

I don't think there's a single soldier in the british infantry that hasn't thought about going SF. But Jonty lives and breathes the Royal Irish. I think he's more than happy where he's at.
